Happy Easter!

We had a fantastic Easter this year!  We had so much fun with our traditions like our annual Easter Sunday confetti egg fight, dying Easter eggs in the kitchen, attending the annual Lion's Club Easter Egg Hunt, and opening up packed Easter baskets on the Saturday before Easter.  But the best part of Easter this year was the week before Easter Sunday.  Each day we learned something about the last week of our Savior's life and took an opportunity to do something relating to those events to help us deepen our understanding of the Savior and to invite the Spirit into our home in a special way during this most Holy of weeks.  We shared a Christ centered front yard Easter Egg hunt with a few little friends in the neighborhood, we enjoyed a Jerusalem dinner together to commemorate the Last Supper, we found ways to ponder on the incalculable gift of the Atonement, and came closer together as a family through our worship of the Savior.  I am so thankful for Jesus.  I am humbled by His love and sacrifice for me.  Happy Easter everyone!  May you feel the love of your Savior today and everyday.  You are deserving!

AJR Music Concert

Dustin and I took Loyd, Xavier, and Maeve to see one of their favorite bands, AJR, in concert in Salt Lake.  We went to see the AJR: Somewhere in the Sky concert!  It was so GREAT!  We had a fun listening to all the opening bands and hanging out people watching. Maeve ditched us to sit with her friend as soon as she found out she was there too.  Maeve screamed and cheered so much she was horse for the next day.  :D It was a lot of fun.  We definitely would do it again. :D

It's Christmas Time

It's the Christmas season and we did a few things to celebrate the Christmas cheer this year.  Diana and I and her friend Everett and his fun mom got a personal tour of the Ogden Christmas Village by none other than Mrs Clause herself!  We even got a train ride too!  I think it was the highlight of the season for Diana.  Then we took the entire family to Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point to enjoy the spectacular lights throughout the gardens.  As always, it was awe-inspiring!  We attended the annual Phillips Family Christmas Party.  Santa made an appearance and handed out gifts to all of the kids.  Diana was terrified of him and quickly hid behind my chair when the jolly old elf came into the room.  But, she quickly found her inner bravery and ran up to his lap when he produced a prettily wrapped present and called Diana's name.  She was not going to miss out on her very own gift.  It was so funny and so cute! Xavier's New Job

 Xavier started a new job as a courtesy clerk at Ridley's Supermarket!  He's working with Loyd and is so excited to be earning some money of his own. He's going to do fantastic!  We're so proud of Loyd for being such a great employee that Ridley's decided to give Xavier a job too!  I've got some hardworking, handsome sons!
