Bits and Bobs

What haven't we been doing?  We have had all the fun we can think of lately!  

Owen and John had a blast at not just one, but TWO Lego Robotics camps at Weber State University.  They had to miss a few piano lessons to fit the camp in, but I think the boys were totally okay with that trade off.  ;D 

John is trying out a few new styles to reflect his inner awesome.  Right now we are in his hat era.  He looks pretty amazing!
Diana LOVES riding her tricycle.  She's pretty much a pro at it now. 
Loyd shipped the ever precious and delicious Blue Bell ice cream from Texas and that left us with a lot of dry ice to experiment with around the house.  Xavier and John had the best time making homemade root beer with it.  Yum!

When it's in the 60s in February you might as well set up an outside fort in your underpants after spending a long afternoon selling free root beer to the neighborhood.  Somehow they made $4 from their free root beer sales.  ;D 

With all of our fun activities we made sure to take time to relax and rest.  It's very important to have balance in all things.  :D

AJR Music Concert

Dustin and I took Loyd, Xavier, and Maeve to see one of their favorite bands, AJR, in concert in Salt Lake.  We went to see the AJR: Somewhere in the Sky concert!  It was so GREAT!  We had a fun listening to all the opening bands and hanging out people watching. Maeve ditched us to sit with her friend as soon as she found out she was there too.  Maeve screamed and cheered so much she was horse for the next day.  :D It was a lot of fun.  We definitely would do it again. :D

It's Christmas Time

It's the Christmas season and we did a few things to celebrate the Christmas cheer this year.  Diana and I and her friend Everett and his fun mom got a personal tour of the Ogden Christmas Village by none other than Mrs Clause herself!  We even got a train ride too!  I think it was the highlight of the season for Diana.  Then we took the entire family to Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point to enjoy the spectacular lights throughout the gardens.  As always, it was awe-inspiring!  We attended the annual Phillips Family Christmas Party.  Santa made an appearance and handed out gifts to all of the kids.  Diana was terrified of him and quickly hid behind my chair when the jolly old elf came into the room.  But, she quickly found her inner bravery and ran up to his lap when he produced a prettily wrapped present and called Diana's name.  She was not going to miss out on her very own gift.  It was so funny and so cute! Xavier's New Job

 Xavier started a new job as a courtesy clerk at Ridley's Supermarket!  He's working with Loyd and is so excited to be earning some money of his own. He's going to do fantastic!  We're so proud of Loyd for being such a great employee that Ridley's decided to give Xavier a job too!  I've got some hardworking, handsome sons!
