It's Christmas Time

It's the Christmas season and we did a few things to celebrate the Christmas cheer this year.  Diana and I and her friend Everett and his fun mom got a personal tour of the Ogden Christmas Village by none other than Mrs Clause herself!  We even got a train ride too!  I think it was the highlight of the season for Diana. 

Then we took the entire family to Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point to enjoy the spectacular lights throughout the gardens.  As always, it was awe-inspiring! 

We attended the annual Phillips Family Christmas Party.  Santa made an appearance and handed out gifts to all of the kids.  Diana was terrified of him and quickly hid behind my chair when the jolly old elf came into the room.  But, she quickly found her inner bravery and ran up to his lap when he produced a prettily wrapped present and called Diana's name.  She was not going to miss out on her very own gift.  It was so funny and so cute!

AJR Music Concert

Dustin and I took Loyd, Xavier, and Maeve to see one of their favorite bands, AJR, in concert in Salt Lake.  We went to see the AJR: Somewhere in the Sky concert!  It was so GREAT!  We had a fun listening to all the opening bands and hanging out people watching. Maeve ditched us to sit with her friend as soon as she found out she was there too.  Maeve screamed and cheered so much she was horse for the next day.  :D It was a lot of fun.  We definitely would do it again. :D

Not Much Happening In Our Neck of the Woods

Not much to tell from our end of Texas. We've just been keeping busy keeping busy. We have started doing a small story time on Wednesdays with a few friends. The kids love it. Rebekah likes spending time with the other kids and Loyd adores doing the finger plays. I'm sure Great Grandma Young is helping him learn all the actions. He's really quite good at them and picks up the plays rather quickly. Loyd also went in for his 18 month old well baby visit. Everything is looking good for our young man. He is tall and skinny and seems to be ahead of the curve on his developmental milestones. The pediatrician was impressed. Rebekah is turning into quite the social butterfly. She loves to play with her friends. She would have them come over every day, all day if she could. When they have to go home she turns to Loyd and spends the rest of the afternoon telling him what to do. She taught him a few games with some carpet squares and has him trained on how to play a good g...

Diana loves to play babies! John is figuring out how to take selfies  And everyone loves a good gerbil snuggle CiCi wanted to see what all the fuss was about and decided to learn to play Magic the Gathering with Loyd's deck when he wasn't around to stop her.  X-)
