Lonely Week

Image
Loyd has been very photogenic this week and a very good baby. As you can see from the pictures above he is his happiest when practicing his sitting skills. Rebekah misses her daddy. Dustin is in Tyler this week for Project Lead the Way training and it is making for a long and lonely week for us at home. We did get a lot of rain from Hurricane Dolly and some really loud thunder storms over the past two days. I was awakened from a dead sleep by house shaking thunder a few times this week. Rebekah has been trying to keep busy with lots of reading and many repeated requests to watch Curious George because we were stuck inside due to rain so much this week. Good thing she loves to read!

Beating that Summer Heat

Image
It's been pretty hot around these parts lately. We have taken a drastic measure to beat the heat. We pulled out the kiddie pool! Here is Rebekah and Loyd hangin' with their friend Libby. They had a lot of fun filling buckets with water and then dumping them out on the grass. They also had fun trading toys. Loyd was just happy to be playing with the "big" kids. Bekah and Libby (our two Little Mermaid twins) took turns filling the pool with the garden hose. I think that might have been the best part of the afternoon for them. We thought Loyd might like a little shower to cool off his nogen. I'm thinking he wasn't overly thrilled with it. ;>)

Food! Glorious Food!

Loyd finally had his first bite of "solid" food on Wednesday! He loved it and Dustin couldn't shovel the cereal in fast enough for our little man. Loyd loves to taste new foods and wants to try everyone's food. He has to sit at the dinner table with us or he screams. We then have to spend our time keeping a close eye on him or else he will grab food off plates and attempt to eat it. I think he will be a great little eater just like his big sister! Here is Rebekah posing for a perfect shot from 1985. I saw her hair that morning and just couldn't resist the call of the side pony tale! She is so cute! Loyd is so handsome! I love this little outfit! He does look a little bit like a lumber jack. Oh, Loyd's a lumber jack and that's OK. He plays all day and he sleeps all night! Bekah would live in a swimming suit if I let her. She loves to play in the water and thinks she is hot stuff in a swimming suit. Here is our manly Dustin working on his first o

Water Fun!

Image
Yesterday, we went to Rebekah's best friend's birthday party. They had some kiddie pools and this awesome inflatable slide set up in the backyard and the kids were allowed to run wild! Bekah and Loyd had an awesome time! It took only 4 hours to get Bekah out of the water and ready to go home. :) Thank for the super fun Saturday Libby and Libby's parents! Bekah totally had fun going down the slide! I'm not sure who looks more funny in this shot, me or Bekah! No, that isn't a real lizard. It is just a plastic one, but we do have those all over our backyard and sometimes we see one in the house! Check out Loyd's amazing sitting skills! This lad has balance! Loyd learned to splash and thought that was possibly the most fun thing he has ever done in his life! Now this is one handsome baby!

Our Trip to Utah

Image
We survived our 2 day car trip! Rebekah and Loyd took it well. Here is the best shot of Bekah who actually fell asleep mid book during the long journey to Grandma's house. I think the kids were worn out after a fun filled 2 weeks with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Rebekah learned a few new phrases such as, "Here ya go," "Bekah's turn!" and "I'm back." Loyd adored all of the attention. He thinks he is the star of every show! While in Utah Loyd learned how to roll over and sit up. He is Mr. Crunch. He keeps trying to pull himself up to a sitting position from a laying position using only his abs. He can't quite pull this mighty feat off yet, but maybe soon. He also discovered his two feet. He can grab them pretty well now, so he is currently working on sucking on his big toes. Who knows, he may need them as back up if his thumbs are busy! While we were in Utah will all of our wonderful family we blessed Loyd in my pa
