It's Always Fun For Everyone When Grandma Comes

Image
We were soooo lucky to have Grandma Phillips come for a 2 week visit this month.  We had so much fun spending time with our beloved Grandma P.  The boys couldn't get enough kisses, Maeve had to show her Grandma off to every person she met at church and around town, Owen learned that he had to keep a close eye on Grandma or she just might put his toy away when he isn't looking, and Rebekah loved being around Grandma and soaking up all that precious love that Grandma has for her grandchildren.  I just loved having 2 weeks of my mom all to myself.  I learned so much from her, felt so loved, got a lot of chores around the house done, and had my house cleaned to within an inch of it's life with our new Norwex cloths.  :D  When we took Grandma to the airport to return home to Utah there were many long faces in our home.  We would keep Grandma at our house forever if we could.  We love you Grandma Phillips thanks for coming Texas!  Thank you Grandpa Phillips for letting us hav

1st Grade Pumpkin Homework Assignment

Image
Xavier is in 1st Grade this year, and that means he gets to create his own book character themed pumpkin for school this year.  Thank goodness we had Grandma Phillips here to help Xavier transform his plain orange pumpkin into Puff the Magic Pumpkin Dragon!  I think Puff turned out pretty awesome!  Thanks Grandma!   And of course, if Grandma was making Xavier a Dragon Pumpkin, then of course she would want to make a little Dragon Pumpkin for Maeve too.  So, after reassuring Grandma repeatedly that this is what she really wanted to do, Grandma relented and realized she really did want to make a small Dragon Pumpkin for Maeve too.  :)   I think Grandma gained a little more insight into how she ended up talking her mother into making her a mini birthday cake on her brother's birthday every year when she was a little girl.  ;)

Halloween Costume Fun

Grandma Phillips made Halloween costume magic at our house this year.  She made us 2 dragon costumes for big boys, 2 peacock costumes for pretty girls, and fixed one Yoda costume for toddler Yoda tradition.  :)  Here are some pictures of Grandma's amazing handiwork.  We LOVE our costumes this year!  (Rebekah told everyone she saw that her feather on her headband was a real peacock feather.  Apparently authenticity is very important in a quality Halloween costume. ;D )  Peacock Maeve - Age 4  Dragon Master Loyd - Age 8  Puff the Magic Dragon Xavier - Age 7  The Peacock Sisters  Peacock Rebekah showing off her tail feathers - Age 10  Yoda Owen - Age Almost 2 (or is that 900 years old?)  Cornelius Kids Halloween 2016 Here's a showcase of the beautiful costumes Grandma Phillips made for us this year.  I just LOVE the peacock skirts and the accompanying flapper styled peacock feather headbands!  So cute! And of course, no

Corny Cornelius Corn Maze Fun

Image
What a fun day at Froberg Farm's Family Corn Maze!  We spent a fun afternoon with Grandma Phillips finding our way through a fun local corn maze, playing old fashion games like bean bag toss and rubber duck races, playing on hay bales, and of course going on a fun tractor pulled wagon ride.  We had a ton of fun being together, playing outside, and spending the day with Grandam.  :)
