Easter Sunday 2017 Checklist Cont.

Image
Easter Sunday is a special day each year where we honor and celebrate the work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in suffering the agonies of the Atonement and the Resurrection so that we might repent and be forgiven of our many sins and return to live alongside our beloved, loving Heavenly Father, and receive our bodies back in their perfect state one day.  I want to leave my testimony that I know Jesus is the son of God.  He is our beloved and loving elder brother.  I know he lived, died, and lives again.  I know he wants me to be happy and that happiness is achieved only through and by Him.  I love my Savior and hope that one day I can return to live eternally encircled in the arms of His love. So, here is the conclusion of our Easter fun checklist: 8. Attend LDS Church service meetings to honor and celebrate Easter and the Son of God - Check  I even talked Maeve into wearing a frilly dress!!  I told her she had to wear it to look like an Easter egg.  She bought it! 9.

Easter Weekend Checklist 2017

It's Easter weekend and we have a ton of fun things to check off in just 3 short days.  Let's see how we did.  ;)  1.  Have awesome FHE (Family Home Evening) on Jesus and the importance of the Atonement on Monday - Check!    2.  Build an amazing fort that includes way more pillows than fort - Check!   3.  Hit the spray park with friend for the morning - Giddy-up!  I mean, Check!   4.  Make our swimming noggles - I mean goggles look good. - Check! The Easter Bunny comes to our house on Saturday so we can spend Sunday focusing on the real reason for Easter, Jesus Christ and His supernal gift of the Atonement.   This year, instead of Easter dresses and ties Mr. Bunny left Easter swimming suits and goggles, or as Maeve calls them "noggles."  Isn't this the best goggles face ever!  Love it!    5.  Try out our new Easter swimming suits at the neighborhood pool on Saturday - Check! The air temperature was in the 80s, but the water was cl

Happy Spring!

Owen has been enjoying the new sandbox we got to replaced our very old, very well loved turtle sandbox.  Love the smiles and ensure the sand all over the place.  ;)   The park is always so much fun, especially with friends to play with us! In a fit of Spring cleaning I re-purposed this bookcase into a three tiered doll house.  The kids have gone nuts with this and play in it all of the time now, especially Xavier, Maeve and Owen.  It's so fun to see them working those imaginations overtime with quite elaborate and funny stories.  :)

Cub Scout Pinewood Derby

Loyd and Dustin worked together to build a pretty neat looking entry car for this year's Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.  Maeve thought it looked like so much fun, that she joined the engineering fun by grabbing a large craft stick and insisting it get spray painted too.  She then came up with some pretty ingenious wheels (they are pencil grips she taped to the bottom) to complete her automotive creation.  I think both cars looks pretty awesome.  :) Loyd and his friend Toby  Loyd having some fun with his buddies at the Pinewood Derby.

Soccer Season Fun 2017

Image
We're in for another action packed, fun soccer season this year!  Maeve is on a super fun and super cute 4 year old team called "The Orange Crush" and boy do they know how to crush it on the field! Xavier is thrilled to be playing soccer again and excels as a Forward, running at the head of the pack to get that ball to the goal.  He's also super excited to have a yellow team jersey this year and tells everyone he meets that he is on the "Shooting Stars" team.  :)  Loyd is doing awesome on the "Green Hornets" team this year.  As always, he has found his place as the team's Goalie.  He's amazing at keeping those balls out of our net.  He has no fear.  He's so fun to watch blocking shots.  Watching Loyd be an awesome goalie, Maeve was inspired.  She appointed herself as team goalie during games (there are no goalies in 4 year old soccer).  They kick that ball into play and she books it to the goal to protect her team f
