Easter Bunny Stubble

You know Dustin hasn't shaved for a while when Xavier's preschool teachers tell him not to forget to draw the Easter Bunny's whiskers and this is what he draws. We love our scratchy Daddy and our scratchy Easter Bunny.  :D

One Loyd, One Class, One Hour, Two Very Different Stories

Image
Loyd's Primary class had a pair of gentlemen from the Stake Leadership substitute teach during our Ward Conference a few weeks back.  This meant that Loyd's class had two substitute teachers, neither of them from our Ward or familiar with the children.  Oh, let the games begin. Loyd's Version of Primary Class (as given during dinner after Church): While Making Dinner Dustin: "One of the teachers from Loyd's class grabbed me in the hall between hours today.  He looked really concerned and asked if Loyd had a speaking problem.  I thought that was weird and told him that Loyd could talk just fine. Me :  Loyd have a speaking problem?  That's really weird. During Dinner Me , turning to Loyd :   "Loyd, how was Primary today?  We heard you were really quiet today." Loyd , said with great enthusiasm for a job well done: "Yes!  I was super good.  I made a goal to be really really good for my teachers today and only said like three words.  I

Fire Truck Fun

Image
We went to see the Fire Engine and Ladder Truck at the library today for playgroup.  It was super fun to learn some important fire safety tips, check out the awesome trucks, meet very friendly and brave firemen, and play with the giant hose! We are grateful for awesome library children's programs.  Libraries Rock! Fire Chief Xavier and Fire Chief Maeve  How many Fire Chiefs is too many Fire Chiefs for one family?   And of course, after the fire trucks had to return to the station, we got to stay and play at the park with fun friends.  What a happy Friday.  :)

Happy Easter!

This year we had fun coloring 4 dozen Easter Eggs for FHE.  Xavier and Maeve had a great time finding Easter Eggs with friends at Preschool.  Maeve liked finding candy so much we couldn't keep her hot little hands out of her bag! Ready....Aim....Confetti! And after spending a wonderful week learning about the Atonement and talking about how grateful we are to Jesus for the gift of the Resurrection, we capped everything off with a confetti egg fight in the back yard.  It was totally awesome! Happy Baby Owen Moment Confetti Egg Fight Survival of the Fittest Cornelius Style.

Soccer Season Is Here Again

Image
Spring soccer season has begun again.  This year the boys are on the same team and Rebekah is very happy to be on a different team than Loyd.  She likes her space.  :)  Maeve longs to play soccer too, but alas she must wait one more year before she is old enough to join the on-field fun.  For now she must content herself is last season's jersey, her own awesome soccer ball, and lots of snacks on the side-lines with Mom and Dad.  Yea Soccer!   Go Panthers!  (Rebekah in a sea of Red Dragons) Go Cheetahs!  Yea Cornelius Brothers!
