Building Forts

Image
Daddy taught Rebekah how to build a quick fort. She loves her new hang out. Rebekah is getting more and more expressive every day. She has found a way to politely refuse when she doesn't want to do something. She very nicely says, "Nope thanks, I fine." It's tough to argue with her after that. Loyd is pulling himself up onto everything and my book cases provide him hours of entertainment. He loves to pull my books out and turn through the pages. The last day or two he has decided to start experimenting with climbing. He reaches up onto his tippy toes and tries to scale the shelves. He isn't very good at this yet, thank goodness. He is one busy little man! Yuck! Sister kisses!

Happy Birthday Grandma Phillips!

We had a fun week. We went to story time, played around the house a lot, and even had a pajama party at a friends' house! Loyd is busy exploring the house. He already pulled out every single DVD we own, shook the floor lamp pretty good, knocked over an end table, and pulled out our internet cable. He is also doing his best to learn to stand on his own. He pulls himself up on everything . He is one busy little guy! Rebekah is a great older sister. She loves to play with Loyd and is good to share her toys and snacks with him (I have to keep a close eye on her with that last bit of sisterly kindness). Today she handed Loyd a sucker and boy was he happy to have that treat! Loyd wasn't too pleased with me when I had to confiscate the choking hazard. Bekah is able to verbalize more of her thoughts and feelings and she is getting pretty good at telling me stories about things that have happened in the recent past. These kids are smart! Here comes Loyd! These tunnel toys are

Is It Fall Yet?

We had rain today after 3 weeks of dry, sunny weather and the temperatures are finally starting to dip down into more comfortable ranges. I'm hoping this beautiful weather sticks! We have tons of cute pictures of the kids, so enjoy! Bekah was having a field day with all the leaves in the back yard. Here she is creating her own leaf storm with her friend Libby. Too cute! After throwing lots of leaves the girls decided to take an art break and draw some masterpieces on the driveway. They are very talented. Loyd is very good to put up with random Bekah hugs when he is in the middle of rolling up the rug in the living room. These two love playing together all day long. I just thought this was cute! They are laughing at each other. They think they are pretty hilarious. Here is Dustin playing his favorite lazy parent game. Bekah gets a kick out of hiding under blankets and insists that Dad play with her when he comes home from work. Mostly, Dustin is required to sit under t

Ok , so I got sucked into Harry Potter and Twilight this last week/month. I will start the final Harry Potter book today and I'm anxiously waiting for the second book in the Twilight series to become available at the library as I finished Twilight last night. It took me less than 24hrs to read it because I really just couldn't put it down! (house, kids, and husband were sadly neglected) I took a brief break this morning before I re-immerse myself in the final Harry Potter book to play with the kids and clean my disheveled home. I know I will be useless once again when I start this last book. We had a totally great time with Charlotte and Baby Charlie swimming this morning. The water was a tiny bit cool, but the kids didn't mind at all. Loyd loved the swimming pool from the second we put him in his nifty floating boat. His little feet kicked like crazy as he tried to move under his own steam. He cracks me up! He got really good at turning his boat in circle with
