Good Oral Hygiene

Image
We believe in teaching our children from a very young age to practice good oral hygiene.  Our new electric toothbrushes from the Easter Bunny seem to have really driven this message home for Baby O.  :)

Baby Onslow

Image
After a mid-Church diaper emergency Baby Owen had to ditch his onesie and just wear his cute little sweater vest.  His improvised look kept pinging my mind, reminding me of something, but I couldn't say what.  Then, all of a sudden, it hit me.  Baby O looked like the character Onslow, from Keeping Up appearances!  It was too funny!

We're coming with you!

After an action packed 10 days, and lots and lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa P, the kids all decided they were going to head back to Utah with them in their car.  Maeve was especially ready for the "long car ride!" to their house in Utah.  It's too bad we still have school, or we might all have piled in and followed them home.  :)  We have a very special Grandma and Grandpa.  We are so grateful they could come for Loyd's baptism and spend Easter and General Conference with us.  It was a special trip for us!  We love you  Grandma P and Papa Goober!

Soccer!!!

The 2016 Spring Soccer Season Has Arrived! The kids are excited for another fun soccer season, especially Maeve.  She is finally old enough to play on her very own team.  She has been waiting three very long years for this to finally happen.  When we asked her what we do at soccer she said, "We eat treats and I win!"  That's the spirit guys!  Let's have fun eating treats, winning, and maybe getting a little soccer in there too.  ;) Loyd's Team - The SuperSonics Xavier's Team - The Hammerheads Maeve's Team - The Bears (Maeve says they are called "The Go Bears!" I think she got that idea from all the cheering coming from the parents.)

Easter Fun!

When one is eating a chocolate bunny it is vitally important to remember to never eat the carrots.  Even if they look like chocolate, they are still considered a vegetable and therefore are uneatable.  *****  Loyd: "Grandma, did you know you love to color Easter eggs!  It's true.  My mom told us." Grandma Phillips: "Yes, I knew that too!" My mom has colored thousands of eggs with her children and grandchildren over her lifetime.  I fondly remember dying dozens of hard boiled eggs every Easter with my sisters, and then with my nieces and nephews, my Mom in charge of the whole operation.  It wasn't uncommon for us to boil and dye 12 dozen+ eggs in an evening of Easter fun.  This year my kids had the treat of dying Easter eggs with Grandma for the very first time.  They had so much fun coloring 6 dozen eggs and then finding creative ways to eat 6 dozen eggs for the next week.  Thank you, Grandma for sharing one of my favorite Easter traditions wi

Loyd's Baptism Day

Image
Friday, March 25th, 2016 - Good Friday before Easter Sunday - Loyd was baptized and confirmed into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by his Father.  It was such a special day.  Friends and family all came to share in  Loyd's decision to follow Christ and partake of his first saving ordinance on his journey back to live with Heavenly Father.  I am so pleased with his choice to take upon himself the name of Christ and become His disciple.  Loyd is a special boy, with a special spirit.  I know the Lord has a great work for him to do in building up God's kingdom. We love you, Loyd, and are so proud of you! Grandma and Grandpa (Papa Goober) Phillips drove all the way from Utah to share with Loyd in his Baptism day.  It was special to hear Grandma and Grandpa share their testimonies of the truthfulness of the Gospel with Loyd during his program.  Loyd was so happy to see two of his special Grandmas at his baptism.  Grandma Phillips gave a beautiful talk on the
