Rebekah: "I can't wait for the twenty-tooth of this month!"  (I think we now know which day of the month the Tooth Fairy and dentists like the most.) ***** After a nap Loyd (in a dejected voice) : "Mom, my dream didn't come true." Mom (mildly curious) : "What was your dream?" Loyd: "I dreamed noodle were falling out of my wall.  When I woke up I checked under my bed and they weren't there." ***** Xavier: "Watch this happen!" - He shouts this very enthusiastically whenever he wants us to watch him do something. Xavier (holding up 1 hand, with is fingers spread wide apart) : "5 minutes!" - He declares this whenever we announce it is time to stop doing something he isn't ready to leave yet.    *****  Maeve: ...And because she can say a thousand things with her eyes...

The End and The Beginning

Image
This week was the last week of school for Rebekah and the last soccer game for the Spring season for both Rebekah and Loyd.  Rebekah did a fabulous job this past school year, excelling at her course work in all subject areas.  I am very proud of her for her diligence and willingness to work and improve her intellect.  I am also proud of her kind heart and the warm, kind way she treats all she meets. Our last soccer game this week was also our first win of the season.  Rebekah and Loyd really grew as players and improved their listening, obeying, observation, and teamwork skills.  It was a fun season!  We were quite the sight for our last game.  Dustin couldn't come due to work, so it was just me on my own getting 4 happy, busy kids to the field on time, while toting the team snack for the week and a chair from which to watch the game.  I learned that there is no one who carries as much stuff as a three year old...

Swim Season Now Open

This was our last week of story time for the school year.  To celebrate we pulled out the wading pools, set up a sprinkler, threw in some sponge burst balls, and let all the kids go wild.  They played and had a great time with all their friends in the nice warm weather and the moms enjoyed some down time and a chance to visit.  We had such a fun time with story time and we are now looking forward to a fun summer of sun, sand, and swimming.  :)  Spring Soccer season is almost over.  Just one more game to go!  Our team did well yesterday. Our game ended in a tie!  Yea!

Trooper School Graduation

Image
Loyd graduated from Trooper School Preschool this week.  He was given the awared for "Best Participator."  He is always ready to learn and play.  He is also very good at making sure everyone is included and feels welcome.  He is my special little boy.  I am proud of him and love him to pieces. I am so grateful for the love and time of all the wonderful teachers who worked with Loyd and helped him know he is special and loved this last school year.  It was a wonderful experience and I am going to always be grateful for the opportunity Loyd had to go to Trooper School. I think part of my job as a parent is to find others who will help my children become better and who will fill in the gaps where I may not have the tools or knowledge necessary to meet all of their needs.  Trooper School did that for us.  I know Loyd is a better, happier boy because of this amazing experience. Thank you Trooper Teachers!  Look out Kindergarten, here we come...

The Magical World of Xavier

Image
Xavier lives in a magical land I thought I would share with you.  For Xavier there are two magical things that explain most of his happy daily experiences.  1st -The Grocery Store All objects come from the magical place called "The Grocery Store."  All toys, clothes, food, tools, etc come from " The Grocery Store."  Whenever he pulls out a t-shirts or I open a new jug of milk (his favorite food, by the way) he asks, "Where you get that Mommy?" and then he quickly answers his own question with, "Oh, the grocery store."  If I try to correct him and say that I got the Cookie Monster t-shirt from Target, he will stop me and say, "No, you get it from the grocery store." And that is the end of the conversation as far as he is concerned.  2nd - The Tooth Fairy All gifts and surprises come from the Tooth Fairy.  She is the bringer of all surprises and gifts as far as Xavier is concerned.  One morning he woke up and found some left ...
