Maeve's New Room!!! (and Diana's)

Bekah's leaving us for college has left a hole in our hearts and an opening for bedroom swaps.  Maeve has good naturedly shared a room with Owen and John for the past four years so that Rebekah could enjoy having a room of her own.  As her reward for being a selfless sister, Maeve now gets Rebekah's old bedroom (plus she gets to share with Diana).  Grandma Phillips came over for the day and helped me to redecorate Rebeka's old room and turn it into Maeve's sweet space.  I think it turned out super cute and Maeve agrees.  The only drawback is that now we never see Maeve because she is always hanging out in her super cute bedroom. :) 


Diana also approves. :) She doesn't really sleep on the floor though.  She has a pretty trundle bed hidden underneath Maeve's cool dragon bed.

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preference for warm

We Returned to a Blessing

We came home to a HUGE blessing. Our house is still here and didn't sustain much damage. We just have to rebuild a portion of our fence and clean up dead branches and we are good to groove again. We don't have power yet, but I anticipate that it will come online soon. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I know the Lord greatly blessed us on this one. We came home and made sure we gave a prayer of thanks for His mercy on us. We hope we can get out there and start helping folks who didn't fair as well as we did soon.
