Happy Birthday, Xavier!

Happiest of birthdays to this amazing young man!  Xavier turned 15 this year and now gets to fill his time with homework, prepping for Driver's Ed, finding lots of fun ways to hangout with his buddies, and hang out with his parents.  I love this boy inside and out.  He is thoughtful, watchful, and kind.  He is funny, adventurous, and brave.  He is humble and quiet, and has the best smile ever!! I don't know what I did right to get to be his mama, but I'm sure thankful he's mine!  
For his birthday Xavier requested another fun Nerf battle/Switch game night with his friends at Grandma Phillips' house.  It was fun!!

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preference for warm

We Returned to a Blessing

We came home to a HUGE blessing. Our house is still here and didn't sustain much damage. We just have to rebuild a portion of our fence and clean up dead branches and we are good to groove again. We don't have power yet, but I anticipate that it will come online soon. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I know the Lord greatly blessed us on this one. We came home and made sure we gave a prayer of thanks for His mercy on us. We hope we can get out there and start helping folks who didn't fair as well as we did soon.
