Happy Birthday, Maeve!!

How has 12 years flown by so quickly?!  Maeve is magical.  She has the most beautiful smile.  She has a kind heart.  She has a brave spirit.  She is a found of constant creativity.  She is a fun sister, an enthusiastic friend, and wonderful daughter.  Maeve is humble and confident.  I hope one day I can be like Maeve and embrace the beauty and adventure of life with such enthusiasm and sincerity.  I am a blessed mother indeed to have such a daughter by my side.  I love you, Maeve!
To celebrate such a momentous birthday we took Maeve and two of her friends out to the theater to see the musical version of "Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels." Maeve had a blast.  She has recently discovered a love of the live theater and was thrilled to enjoy an evening out and share her newfound love with a few friends.  I love having such an artistic daughter to talk all things arts with me!

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preference for warm

We Returned to a Blessing

We came home to a HUGE blessing. Our house is still here and didn't sustain much damage. We just have to rebuild a portion of our fence and clean up dead branches and we are good to groove again. We don't have power yet, but I anticipate that it will come online soon. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I know the Lord greatly blessed us on this one. We came home and made sure we gave a prayer of thanks for His mercy on us. We hope we can get out there and start helping folks who didn't fair as well as we did soon.
