Happy Birthday Maeve!

This gorgeous girl survived being 13! I am so glad we have birthdays so we can spend an entire day showering special people like Maeve with love and affection.  

Maeve has amazing creative talents that she tirelessly works at and develops to get better.  This year, in addition to after school art classes, she has been teaching herself how to sew and make furry masks.  Turns out, she's a wiz on a sewing machine and a hot glue gun!  

Maeve has the kindest heart I know.  There is room for the whole world and then some.  She is thoughtful of the feelings of others, lifts the hands that hang down, and finds the extraordinary in the work of others then proceeds to let them know about it.  Maeve is always ready with a kind word, a beautiful smile, and the best laugh.  

Maeve is an intellectual wizard.  She studies hard, is the most attentive student a teacher could ask for,  reads all the time, and isn't afraid to give anything a try.  I love that she is in the art club and the science club and gives her love and attention equally enthusiastically to both subjects.  She is a well rounded scholar with a bright future ahead of her. 

Maeve is the most wonderful daughter and I am luckiest mom in the world to have her all my own.  Every day with Maeve is filled with magic, wonder, positivity, love, and excitement.  I love you Maeve!  
Maeve and I went to the Timpanogos Story Telling Festival at Thanksgiving Point for her Birthday outing.  We laughed; we ate; we played Dungeons and Dragons.  What more could a girl want!  It was the best day every and the best part of it was that I got to spend all of it with my very own Miss Maeve!

It's Christmas Time

It's the Christmas season and we did a few things to celebrate the Christmas cheer this year.  Diana and I and her friend Everett and his fun mom got a personal tour of the Ogden Christmas Village by none other than Mrs Clause herself!  We even got a train ride too!  I think it was the highlight of the season for Diana.  Then we took the entire family to Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point to enjoy the spectacular lights throughout the gardens.  As always, it was awe-inspiring!  We attended the annual Phillips Family Christmas Party.  Santa made an appearance and handed out gifts to all of the kids.  Diana was terrified of him and quickly hid behind my chair when the jolly old elf came into the room.  But, she quickly found her inner bravery and ran up to his lap when he produced a prettily wrapped present and called Diana's name.  She was not going to miss out on her very own gift.  It was so funny and so cute! This Guy is Amazing

Loyd closed out his High School experience as #4 in his class ranking!  Go Loyd!  I couldn't be more proud of him!  He has worked so hard the past 4 years.  He's held down a demanding parttime job at Ridley's Grocery store, taken on challenging college and AP classes, attending the DTC to learn more about architecture and engineering, taken time to build lasting memories with his siblings, and been the best friend ever.  And he's become a spiritual powerhouse at the same time, taking time to attend Seminary, study his scriptures and his Patriarchal Blessing daily, and never forgets to open his heart up in prayer to Heavenly Father.  This guy is amazing!  He was asked to honor an important teacher to him at the first ever Morgan High School Honors Banquet.  The spirit of gratitude and love that was there was the best feeling.  I'm so proud of Loyd and his recognition of Mrs. Heidi Miller for her love and efforts to help grow these students int...
