Happy Birthday Xavier!

 Googled birthday cake inspiration...

...actual birthday cake creation.  Happy Birthday, Xavier!  I'm sure glad you aren't too critical of your mom's lacking cake decorating skills.  :)

No matter how the cake turned out, Xavier was pretty excited it was for him.  He is such a wonderfully happy little boy.  I love to hear his giggles all day long and see his warm, wide ever-present grin.  He has a tender side, and can whine with the best of little brothers when Loyd picks on him, but he has a caring and friendly side too that makes him a fun, fast friend and enthusiastic brother.

I can hardly believe he is 5 years old now.  He is growing up far too fast.  Some of the things he enjoys right now include cooking with me, measuring and stirring of the ingredients with care.  He also love to watch his favorite PBS Kids cartoons, Curious George, Wild Kratts, and Peg + Cat.  Play dates with friends are his favorite thing to do, and he patiently suffers through library Story Times with his mommy and little sister.  He loves reading books together on the front room couch, playing toys in his bunk bed by himself or with a friend/sibling, and building pillow and blanket forts with his brother.  He would much rather prefer running after than riding his bike along side his brother around the neighborhood.  He never lets us forget a night of reading the Book of Mormon together as a family, happy shouting at bed time, "Scripture Stories!  Scripture Stories!"

How lucky we hare to have such a loving little boy in our family.  He makes us stronger and brings great joy to all of us with his special spirit.  Happy birthday and we love you, Xavier!

In case you ever doubted that Mormon pioneer DNA ran strongly through our veins, here is proof positive that it does.  Maeve couldn't resist diving right in to a plate of yummy green Jello while my back was briefly turned.

Then, after Maeve had her fill, we suddenly found Rebekah had quickly moved in to scoop up any remaining delicious, irresistible Jello.  What can I say?  It's genetically hard wired into us to love eating green Jello.  :)

Cheese!
