Fair Time!

Image
It's Morgan County Fair time!  We had a BLAST at our first ever rodeo.  Diana learned to say "bull" because she was so excited by the bull riding events.  She loved it all.  We all had fun cheering for the talented and athletic cowboys and cowgirls.  We'll definitely have to make that a tradition.   Maeve showed CiCi at the fair with 4-H.  She did a great job presenting her rabbit and sharing her bunny knowledge.   Both girl and bunny earned blue ribbons. Owen, John, Maeve, and Rebekah all put indoor arts and crafts entries for the fair and they all got blue ribbons too! And of course we had fun playing the free family games at the fair and eating lots and lots of fair food.  It was a great week of country fun.  Maeve and CiCi Pretty serious mini golf Foam bubbles party!

I Did A Thing! - Grandad Loyd L Young's Memoir is Completed!

Image
I did a thing!  After a lifetime of wishing I had this and 4 years of work, I completed writing my Grandad Loyd L Young's memoir! I used Grandad's writings and original documents along with lots of help, creative guidance and additions, edits, and support from my amazing Mama, Mary Jane Young Phillips, and my crazy smart and talented uncle, Loyd Grey Young.  It was a work of love for Grandad Young and for my mom, who really loved her father more than she can ever express.   To celebrate, my mom and I threw a Young Cousins party at her beautiful home and gave everyone a copy.  It was a super fun family party!

Summer Arts and Crafts

Image
We've been busy filling our summer with lots of arts and crafts, music, and baking.  It's a fun time of year to explore new hobbies and interests and make a yummy treat.  I'm so glad we can do such fun things in the summer time.  Rebekah is working on perfecting her bread making skills.  She made yummy garlic biscuits and this amazing, beautiful chocolate babka.  Slime making has become a popular craft/science experiment around here.  I have some professional slime makers around here.   Maeve has been working on costume creation skills.  She invented a new cosplay category called Fluffers.  She's had fun writing up the rules and guidelines and costume ideas for her fluffers group.   No summer would be complete without a super awesome piano recital for Maeve and Owen.  They did a great job.  I'm so proud of them for working hard to develop their musical talents.  They are awesome musicians.  Just because, che...
