Fun Milestones at School So Far This Year

Rebekah was invited to join the National Honor Society this year.  I am so proud of her commitment to personal achievement in academics and service.  I'm glad she was recognized for her efforts.  She is one truly outstanding young woman and I am very blessed to be her mother.

Xavier with the 7th Grade Beginning Band

Loyd and Xavier both survived their first band concert of the academic year.  It was Xavier's first band concert ever!  He did great!  He is playing the trombone and doing a great job learning his instrument and being part of an ensemble.  Loyd is still going strong on the euphonium and is the life of the low brass section.  He's so fun to watch in band.  It was his first concert as part of the Morgan High School Concert Band.  Yea Loyd!  I'm so proud of my boys and I'm so glad they can have this opportunity to make good friends and make music part of their lives.  Yea Band!

Rebekah is stretching her computer skills and participated in her first National Cyberleauge Cybersecurity Individual and Team Competitions.  She was invited by Hill College in Texas to join their team for the team event.  Look out world!  Rebekah is on her way!

John had his first fieldtrip of the school year and Grandpa Phillips would have been so excited for him.  They went on a tour of the grocery store!

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preferenc...

Fun Moments Around the House

Xavier is getting down to work on this year's science fair project.  He's testing to see which oil is best for popping popcorn.  It's important science. John and Diana are enjoying playtime inside boxes, because boxes are the best, of course! John is starting to have fun playdates with friends from the neighborhood.  It's so fun to find good friends who share a love in all things Paw Patrol!
