Utah Trip - Post 2

A trip to Grandma's house is just not complete without at least one bubble bath extravaganza.  Did you know you can get the bubbles taller than the children when they are standing if you leave the jets on long enough?  :D

We also had fun at a HUGE splash pad in West Jordan.  It was a mini replica of the local canyons and river systems.  What a fun place to play and get wet.
Owen made this little mound of sand and said it was in honor of "Grandma's mountain."  I guess the hill my parents' house sits on is a big mountain for this little Texan.

We also got in a little local Morgan 4th of July parade action during our trip.  We caught lots of candy, but the thing that made the biggest impression on Maeve was the adorable little pony with the words "Adopt Me" painted on it's side.  Maeve is pretty sure that pony needs her to be happy.

John's favorite part of the visit was playing with Uncle Nathan's dog, Han Solo.  Han and John spent lots and lots of time together roaming the backyard and playing with balls.  Han was so gentle and John loved the companionship.  There was one moment of discord in their time together though.  One morning Aunt Jenny presented Baby John with an ice cream cone for breakfast (Aunts get to do that sort of thing).  John happily licked his little treat for a few minutes until he saw his best buddy, Han.  Well, being a giving sort of a guy, John stretched out his hand with the ice cream cone, offering a lick to the puppy.  Needless to say, Han misinterpreted the kind gesture and took the whole cone away.  Han enjoyed his ice cream treat and John was left wondering what happened.  :D

John also discovered the joys of Grandma's kitchen toy drawer!

Two of Rebekah's highlights happened on the same Saturday!  Early one Saturday morning Uncle Brandon generously took Rebekah and Dustin out for a fly around Morgan and Park City in his awesome single engine airplane.  Well, if that wasn't treat enough later that afternoon we met up with Cousin Anthony and his little family, Aunt Karen, and Cousins Madison and Marissa to enjoy a stunning and adrenaline filled afternoon of boating at Pineview Reservoir.  What a wonderful day! We truly felt spoiled with our embarrassment of riches on that day.

Xavier particularly loved boating on the lake.  After his first exciting ride behind the boat on the big tube he enthusiastically declared, "We need to get a boat and whatever that thing is back there (pointing to the tube)!!!"  Needless to say, all other activities and experiences we had after boating day were always and forever compared to our wonderful day out on the beautiful lake at Pineview.   We are so thankful for the generosity of our family to put together such a wonderful day of fun and memories.   We are so deeply blessed.

Xavier loving the speed boat experience.

John isn't so sure he likes boating as much as everyone else.
Those are some happy kids out on the water today
Water levels were really high this year so there wasn't much beach, but whatever few feet of beach there was to be found we sure had fun playing on it.

We even had fun playing on Aunt Karen's cool paddle boats.  So cool!

Loyd totally fell of the paddle board when trying to stand up!
The real star of the day - tubing!

Thumbs up means "go faster".  These kids are crazy!

Oh no!  Now it's Xavier's turn to fall in the lake.  Good thing we came to get wet!
In years past this tree is happily shading a long stretch of beach.  Check out how high the water is this year!  That large branch does make for a very comfortable resting spot on a hot day.

A big thank you to our Nelson family for such a magical day and so many beautiful, exciting memories!
