Utah 2019 - Part 1
We did so many fun things and enjoyed spending so much time with our family that it's hard to write about everything we did. I do know that one of the most important aspects of a super fun summer is plenty of time playing with the cousins. We are so blessed to be able to play almost every day with Madison, Marissa, Anneke, Zoie, and Kaleb while staying at Grandma and Grandpa P's house. We even got to spend some fun time with Cousin Walter too when we went to Utah county for the day. Here's some fun cousin time shots we managed to snag in the middle of all the club making, backyard exploring, trampoline jumping, swing chatting, lunch/dinner eating, and basement playing. We sure are lucky to be related to such awesome cousins who have such generous Mommies to transport them to Grandma's house to play so often!
Science day fun! We learned about aerodynamics, experimented with film canister rockets, and played with hand helicopters. Thanks Rebekah for teaching us the basic principles of rocketing and thanks Aunt Jenny for the fun helicopter toys! Thanks tall Uncle Nathan for pulling all the helicopters out of the pine trees and off the top of the roof! We sure kept you busy!
We picked a Friday Aunt Jenny and Uncle Nathan were visiting too and all loaded in the party bus van to explore Provo, Utah and visit Uncle Royal, Aunt Loretta, and Cousin Walter (Olivia and Delaney were busy at BYU. Go Cougars!!!)
I can't believe we fit all 12 of us in the van! Aunt Jenny put her many years of teaching and field trip management skills to good use!
Our fist stop in Provo was to explore Bridal Vale Falls along the Provo River walking trail. The kids had so much fun exploring the trees and cold mountain streams. The Falls themselves were beautiful and we spent several hours exploring the base of the falls and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We are so blessed to experience such natural beauty.
First tentative steps across the small pond pooing at the bottom of Bridal Vale Falls
They're regular mountain goats now!
We made it too! Love this handsome guy! Thanks for adventuring with us Dustin!
Cooling our feet in the ice cold mountain water. What a treat for us Texans! Who knew water could be cold?! :P
Maeve finding a moment of zen in God's beautiful natural setting. Where did she learn this? Too cute!

After our fun morning adventure on the Provo River Train we piled back into the party bus van and headed to Bringham Young University (BYU) to informally tour campus, reminisce, and check out the current art exhibit. Before we got to campus we stopped at the drive through for lunch were we are pretty sure we gave the drive through worker a shock when we asked for 8 kids meals and 4 adult meals all for one vehicle!
We took our lunch to BYU for a fun cougar eat picnic before exploring the rest of campus. It was so fun to buy cougar fudge and chocolate covered cinnamon bears while telling the kids all of the fun things we use to do while in college. It's always interesting to see how campus has changed and how it has stated the same with the passage of time. I can't wait to hear my kids' stories when they are old enough to attend BYU too!
After a fun afternoon of walking around BYU we headed to Mapleton, Utah to eat dinner and visit with Uncle Royal and Aunt Loretta. Their backyard was so beautiful and the perfect alpine setting to eat dinner in the cooling evening air. I always love any chance I can get to visit with my big brother and his lovely wife. I am so blessed to have such loving family. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. I look forward to an eternity of family dinners and outdoor chats.
After a long day of adventure and lots of walking we loaded the van up for the last time and drove back to Morgan for the night. Ready for another day of adventures tomorrow.
