 Happy Halloween!


It was a bit of a soggy Halloween for us this year, with over 5.5 inches of rain falling that day, but we had fun anyway.  After a quick dinner of pizza we headed off to the church building for a fun Trunk-or-Treat activity combined with our friends in the Seabrook Ward.  Then we rushed home to dump out our full treat bags and head out into the drizzle with our new friends, the Higleys, to trick-or-treat our neighborhood.  It was rainy and wet, and the puddles were sizable, but we sure had fun giggling and running from house to house and jumping over giant puddles in the dark!  It was a fun, memorable night for all!

Rebekah  (age 9)- A Wise Owl (A BIG "Thank You" to may dear friend Lyndee for making the amazingly beautiful wings!  They are perfect!)

Loyd (age 7) - Arg, a Pirate!

Xavier (age 6) - Arg, another Pirate!

Maeve (age 3) - Her Big Sister/Hero, Rebekah (she is dressed as Rebekah dressed as an owl - those are Maeve's exact words)

Owen (age 11 months) - Giddy-up!  A Horse!

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preferenc...

We Returned to a Blessing

We came home to a HUGE blessing. Our house is still here and didn't sustain much damage. We just have to rebuild a portion of our fence and clean up dead branches and we are good to groove again. We don't have power yet, but I anticipate that it will come online soon. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I know the Lord greatly blessed us on this one. We came home and made sure we gave a prayer of thanks for His mercy on us. We hope we can get out there and start helping folks who didn't fair as well as we did soon. Fun Moments Around the House

Xavier is getting down to work on this year's science fair project.  He's testing to see which oil is best for popping popcorn.  It's important science. John and Diana are enjoying playtime inside boxes, because boxes are the best, of course! John is starting to have fun playdates with friends from the neighborhood.  It's so fun to find good friends who share a love in all things Paw Patrol!
