Last Week of Freedom
This week we tried to make good use of our last week of summer vacation before school starts. We started our week with a play date with one of our friends. There was a lot of train playing and running around with pillow pet friends. Then on Tuesday we had a fun day at Space Center playing on the sports exhibits and meeting more friends. Loyd especially loved the trampoline basketball court and Bekah got pretty good with the virtual reality basketball game. (Maybe there is hope for a future basketball scholarship for her.) They all had fun playing in the three story climbing play structure and shooting the Nerf ball guns.
On Wednesday and Thursday we managed to squeeze in two beach days. We loved playing in the sand and the surf. Loyd even found a pet crab to bring home. His new crabby friend likes to sit on the bedroom dresser and watch Loyd while he sleeps. (Don't worry, it's an empty crab shell. No actual wildlife is monitoring my son's dreams.) Xavier especially loved digging in the wet sand. He spent most of the morning covered in wet, clay like sand from head to toe until he would wade out into the inviting waves with Mommy or big sister in hand to wash the heavy sand away. We'll miss going to the beach all together every week.
We finished up our week with a trip to Bekah's new school to meet her wonderful new teacher. We hit the jackpot with Bekah's teacher. I know Bekah will feel comfortable in her classroom and will have a fun year learning all sorts of new things. I asked Bekah what her expectations of school were and what she thought would happen on the first day of Kindergarten. Bekah said that by the end of the year she will be smarter than everyone and know everything there is to know in the world. She also told me that on the first day of school they will probably have a parade. I hope her teacher is up to the high expectations of our cute little girl. ;>)
