The Perfect Shoe

Let me introduce you to the perfect shoe. We recently purchased this pair of Disney Princess inspired, light up as you walk, sandals for Rebekah. They were deemed the perfect pair of shoes; they both light up and have princesses on them. For several days now Rebekah has worn them around the clock. She plays in them, she gets dressed around them, and she even sleeps in them. When I asked her why she needs to wear her shoes all the time, as we were trying to convince her to take them off for her bath (we were successful in our persuasions by the way), she told me she needs to wear them so she is always ready to go. So there you have it, once you find your perfect shoe statement never ever take it off. You never know when you'll need them to go some place.


I helped throw a baby shower this week for one of my good friends. Part of my responsibilities was to make and bring some cookie dough truffles. As you can see, Loyd was an integral part of the truffle making process. I couldn't have done it with out him. Thanks son!


And after yet another amazingly busy week, Xavier decided to illustrate for us how we are all feeling at my house. I think this week I'm going to focus on relaxing and resting.

how is it you always get the best sleepers in your kids!! You are so seriously lucky!! I think I could have lots of little ones if they were all as good as yours!!

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preference for warm

Fun Moments Around the House

Xavier is getting down to work on this year's science fair project.  He's testing to see which oil is best for popping popcorn.  It's important science. John and Diana are enjoying playtime inside boxes, because boxes are the best, of course! John is starting to have fun playdates with friends from the neighborhood.  It's so fun to find good friends who share a love in all things Paw Patrol!
