Springtime in the Garden

Picking a tasty treat for CiCi Bunny

The beginnings of our own Fairy Circle under the big pine tree in the front yard.  John says we must be careful not to go near it or else we will be forced to dance forever.  Tricky fairy magic.

The personal parable of the forsythia.  The forsythia bush was glorious this year.  It was everything that a forsythia was meant to be.  The form had beautiful sweeping branches and each was filled with the most vibrant yellow flowers you could imagine.  I loved looking at my forsythia this spring and delighted in the beauty it brought my yard.  As the season progressed the bloom on the bush faded and it was soon time to trim the forsythia so that it might spend the summer regrowing and restoring lost energy in its roots so that it might once again blook gloriously next spring.  Sometimes we are like the forsythia.  We are glorious and perfect in our gifts and talents, but in the Lord's wisdom He sees when our season of regrowth and reenergization must come and He lovingly trims us back not because we have done something wrong or we are not still gifted with the potential to bring much beauty into the world, but because He knows it is our time to rest for a season and enjoy the beauty of the other flowers in His beautiful garden.  Soon our time will come again when we will need to let our gifts shine forth and present our all to beautify the Lord's garden again.  We simply must wait and enjoy our time of rest before we do so again.
