It's Finally John's Birthday!!

Image
John has been asking for months if his birthday would be tomorrow.  For months we have had to break the sad news his birthday was no tomorrow.  This month I finally had the chance to tell this cute little man that Yes!  His birthday was tomorrow!  We had so much fun celebrating the ray of sunshine known in our home as John.  The birthday fairy decorated his bedroom door with candy, friends were invited for a super fun Paw Patrol themed party, and presents were excitedly received.  We had so much fun celebrating and playing.  Every day should be John's birthday!  :)  John is growing up to be such a goon natured and kind little boy.  He writes the most heartfelt notes, gives the best hugs and snuggles, and plays the most fun games.  John has a tender testimony of Jesus and Heavenly Father.  He wants to do what is right and help others know they are loved too.  John is a fun friend, a thoughtful brother, and a loving, obedien...

Spring Has Sprung!

Image
We're enjoying all of this early, warm spring weather this year!  It sure is a happy thing to play outside without all the heavy snow gear and enjoy the warm sunshine on out face.  All this sunshine and green is making us especially exciting for Easter and the fun summer promises!  Yea for warmer weather! In other news, we have had 2 Easter Bunny spotting's at our house this spring.  Just saying.... ;D

And the Winner Is....

It's awards season and the Cornelius kids are doing their best to bring home some awesome awards and medals for all of their hard work this year. Xavier competed in his second science fair and made it to the Region level for competition.  He delved into the science behind how to pop the most popcorn for your buck and won an award for Excellence with his project.  Yea, Xavier! Rebekah represented Morgan High School as their Computer Science and Technology Sterling Scholar.  She worked super hard to put together a very impressive portfolio of her high school experience, gave a solid interview, and won runner up for our education Region.   I couldn't be more proud of Rebekah and all of he hard work she put in to make her Sterling Scholar goal come true! Sterling Scholar wasn't all she did.  She competed in her final High School science fair with a continuation of her project on Cyber Security topics.  It's too technical for me to understand all the...

Few things in life are as fun or as luxurious as taking a bubble bath in Grandma P's jetted tub.  There were bubbles, there were giggles, there was too much fun to be contained in a single bath tub! Bath night at Grandma's is the best! Diana insisted on being part of the laser gun game.  John was kind enough to let her be on his team and hot her all suited up for action.  Brothers are the best! Diana at 15 months old - play time!  Play dough fun with Cousin Zoie.  She's so sweet to include Diana in all the fun cousin games.  We love our cousins!

Education in Action

It's been a fun month at school watching the kids show off their hard work and learning!  We had fun listening to Loyd and Xavier at their community band concert. Xavier even had a trombone solo! (Can you see him in his cool fedora hat?!) Xavier competed and won 1st prize in his category at the middle school science fair.  Way to go, Xavier!  His project was trying to figure out which cooking oil pops the most popcorn kernels. (spoiler, no oil popped the most popcorn).  He also went to State FBLA and presented a computer game and he and his friend Nicolas has been working hard on.  Go, Xavier! Owen learned all about Mahatma Gandhi and then got to portray him at the annual 3rd Grade Wax Museum.  He did an awesome job researching Gandhi, creating a fantastic informational board, and memorizing a speech to teach others all about Gandhi's great life accomplishments.  Good job, Owen! Owen also learned all about how to make cheese from the high school agricu...

Loyd is Sweet 16!

Image
This handsome young man turned 16 years old this year!  He is hard working, goal oriented, fun loving, social, and and kind.  He sees what he wants to do in life and isn't afraid to figure out how to get there and put the work in to make it happen.  I'm so proud of the person Loyd is growing into.  He loves God, wants to do good in the world, and is a loyal friend, brother, and son.  He's on his way to going to great places in life and being a solid man for his friends and family to look up to  and rely upon.   Happy Birthday to my oldest son!  Having the privilege of being your mother has taught me how to love deeply, be present in the moment, be aware of others around me, and plan for fun daily.  Loyd, you are a gift in my life and I can't image life without you.  Happy Birthday, son! Shout out to Loyd's favorite furry friends, Jaybureano and Grant! Loyd is an excellent Gerbil dad
