It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here
The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out. Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall. It's been a fun wintertime treat. The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah! She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preference for warmer climates.
The snow has been so fun to play in, but much to the disappointment of all the children in Morgan County the snow has been coming down in the afternoons and evenings, leaving the snow plows plenty of time to clear the roads in time for morning bus routes to school. No snow days for us despite all of this beautiful, fluffy white stuff coming down.
All this snow is great and lots of fun for the kids, but even they miss summer. Owen drew a great picture of my summer garden with his favorite flowers - giant sunflowers and red roses. My gardener mommy heart was so happy to see his wonderful rendition of the garden I grow for him. :)

John helping Dustin shovel out our driveway. That boy LOVES to shovel snow! I looked out the window on Sunday morning to find him outside by himself helping the neighbor shovel their driveway! He is such a good, happy helper. I'm one lucky mama for sure!
