Spring Break Extravaganza

It's Spring Break the last week of March and we had to fill the time with some actin packed family field trip fun!

Our first stop was a great morning long program at the Ogden Nature Center where we got to make our own artistic walking sticks and enjoy a hike to the family picnic grounds to make sure they worked.  We had a blast with our Barra cousins and Grandma on our nature adventure.

No Spring Break is complete without a trip to the Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park.  We braved giant dinosaurs, discovered fossils in the sand pit, played at the playground, and explored the paleontology museum.

The kids earned free tickets to the Hogle Zoo by completing the PBS Kids reading challenge this year.  So, we decided to use our free tickets and spend a day playing at the zoo.  The weather was overcast and cool, perfect for spending a day outside. The crowds were scared off by the grey clouds, so we had the whole place practically to ourselves.  It was so much fun!

Carousel Ride

John screamed and cried and cried and screamed about getting onto the Carousel because he was so scared (he has never ridden on one before), and then he screamed and cried and cried ands creamed when it was over because he didn't want to get off.  He had a ball riding on the beautiful Carousel.

We met a very friendly polar bear who liked to swim right up to the glass and see the children.  Then, we discovered that if you went to the outdoor viewing area he would pop right up out of the water to say hello.

Hello Polar Bear!

Of course, no week of celebrating Spring and week off school would be complete without a surprise package of books from our teacher aunt, Aunt Jenny, and a fun afternoon at the local playground.

We were sure tired by the end of the week, but we enjoyed every minute of our busy Spring Break adventures!
