Sensational Start to Summer!
It's finally here! Summer!!! It wouldn't be summer without a few important events to kick of this season of sun, water, and fun! Like, hey! We got some hammocks for outside! They make great boats, forts, swings, amusement park rides, and sleeping stations.
Owen and John went to their first summer camp of the season. It was fun to go to Dinosaur Science 4H camp!
We are making the rounds to all of the fun, wet community splash pads we can think of to help us beat the heat during these gloriously long summer days!
The rhubarb is happy and delicious this second year in our garden. We love how crazy big the leaves get! And we really love how yummy rhubarb pie, cake, jam, and cobbler tastes when it comes fresh from our little backyard garden.
We all took the day to drop Loyd and Rebekah off at FSY LDS Church camp at BYU this June. Loyd and Rebekah had a great week at BYU being socially and spiritually fed. The little kids, Grandma Phillips, and I had fun exploring the Bean Life Sciences Museum, and visiting our super fun family, Uncle Royal, Aunt Loretta, and Cousin Walter in Mapleton. Maeve was over the moon excited to see a real specimen of her favorite animal the Liger a the Bean museum.
John got to check out Uncle Royal's and Cousin Walter's latest project, a cool old jeep that needs lots of restoration work. Uncle Royal lifted John into the jeep and let him see what life's like behind the wheel. Worried about Uncle Royal, John took a long look around the jeep and look up to his favorite uncle and said, "Um, it's really broken." He was worried Uncle Royal might not be aware of the bad shape of his new fixer-upper project. :D It was pretty funny!
We also made it to the county library's summer reading program kick-off party at the park. They had yummy popsicles and lots and lots and lots of sudsy bubbles!
