Autumn Harvest

Fall is in the air and temperatures are finally in the 70s after a long, hot summer.  Loyd was excited to get his cold weather garden planted and ready for the cooler temps, and our satsuma citrus tree was excited to ripen it's fruit a little early so we could enjoy these yummy oranges.

No one told the Yellow Elder it was Fall, so it burst into blossom like Spring all over again, attracting huge, gentle bumblebees into the yard.  What a fun October treat!

Maeve had to create a character pumpkin for her 1st Grade class.  She chose her favorite character from her favorite book, The Velveteen Rabbit.  The crying pumpkin is when our Rabbit hero is thrown out, the smiling Rabbit is after Nursery Magic turns him into a real bunny, and the third rabbit is Rebekah's contribution to all the bunny love.  I love my Autumn art pumpkins!
