Back to School 2018-2019

It's that time of year again - Back to School!  This year we have a full school slate with 4 kids in school and one more heading to preschool next month. 
We had an awesome time at meet the teacher night.  Loyd got to reconnect with his favorite teacher - Mr. Stroud.  He taught Loyd a lot and showed so much love to my little guy back in 3rd Grade. 
We were also THRILLED to find out that Mr. Stroud's wife, Mrs Stroud, will be Maeve's Kindergarten teacher!  If you could think of the most awesome Kindergarten teacher ever and then make her look like a fun, grown-up version of Maeve then you would have Mrs. Stroud.  Yea for Maeve!

First Day of 2018-2019 School Year

 
Maeve:

  • 5 years old
  • Kindergarten
  • Riding on the school bus for the first time and totally excited to learn to read and write this year
  • Teacher is Mrs Stroud


 Xavier:

  • 8 years old
  • 3rd Grade here we come!
  • Starting his awesome Dyslexia class this year
  • Teacher is Mrs Barnes (Yea!  She is a Reading Superstar and had Loyd and Rebekah ((Her name was Junco when she taught Rebekah)) too!)



 Loyd:

  • 10 years old
  • 5th Grade - Rules the school! I can't believe this is his last year of elementary school
  • Can't wait to see old friends again
  • Teacher is Mrs Luedde 

 
 Rebekah:

  • 12 years old
  • 7th Grade - What!!!! Almost done with Middle School!
  • Excited to volunteer at the LMC (Living Materials Center) and take care of lots of cute animal friends
  • Teachers - Lots! She has 7 classes a day

Bekah catches a bus to her science magnet intermediate school at the nearby middle school.  The rest of the kids catch the elementary school bus in front of our house. 

 The wait for the school bus on the first day of school feels soooo long....


Good luck kiddos!  I know you'll do awesome this year.  You are bright, hard working, and kind.  What more could a mother wish for.  :)

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preference for warm

Fun Moments Around the House

Xavier is getting down to work on this year's science fair project.  He's testing to see which oil is best for popping popcorn.  It's important science. John and Diana are enjoying playtime inside boxes, because boxes are the best, of course! John is starting to have fun playdates with friends from the neighborhood.  It's so fun to find good friends who share a love in all things Paw Patrol!
