League City LDS Stake Fathers and Sons Camp Out 2017
Dustin took Loyd, Xavier, and Maeve on the Stake Fathers and Sons Camp Out this year. They camped at Pine Gully Park in Seabrook, TX again this year. It's a nice park/mini campground next to the water. It's just a 20 minutes drive from our house; so nice and close.
They had a BLAST walking trails, finding wild bunnies, playing Star Wars using light sabers made out of sticks with their friends, determining who the real Kind of the Mountain was (Loyd said he was the winner), eating lots and lots and lots of s'mores, and "sleeping" in a tent.
I'm glad they could all go and have such a fun time together, even if it does
mean a full day of laundry for me when they get home. Happy Camping! :)

Exploring the local trails
After a full afternoon of playing and exploring in nature the crew settled into a traditional camping dinner of Chick-Fil-A while Dustin set up the tent and got the fire started for s'mores. The other dads came to camp prepared to eat too. They brought such camp dinner classics as Taco-Bell, McDonald's, and Domino's Pizza. It's nice to see time honored campfire dinner traditions being passed down from fathers to sons. ;P
"Sleeping" in the tent
Bekah, Owen, and I enjoyed a nice evening at home eating
instant vegetarian curry, watching the always funny movie, Ugliest Dachshund
by Disney and enjoying a quiet house. The next morning our campers came
home dirty, tired, and happy with lots of adventures to share.
Owen is
determined to go next year. It was pretty sad for him to be stuck at
home with us girls. He even tried sneaking into the car 4 or 5 times
while Dustin was packing up Friday night before they left. Next year
my baby can have all sorts of fun getting dirty and eating too many
chocolate covered marshmallows, but this year he is still mine. He did get some consolation the next morning when they came home and set the tent up in the backyard to clean it out. You have never seen a toddler more pleased to play in a tent than was Owen yesterday.
