Look Out, She's 2!
Miss Maeve turned two years old this week and we sure had fun celebrating with her. She has grown so much over the past two years. She has won all of our hearts and figured out how to wrap us around her little finger pretty effectively with her big cheesy grins, exuberant giggles, and toothy kisses.
Maeve makes sure she is always in the middle of whatever fun her brothers are getting up to. She also loves to stay up late playing Webkinz and chatting with her big sister. She is quick to snuggle with her daddy on the couch or sing and dance with Mommy at library story time.
Her favorite things to say recently are:
No, no, no.
Meee!!! (said in a drawn out sing-song voice, she loves to volunteer for whatever is being offered)
Here ya go.
Here!
and
Woyd, Woyd! (translation=Loyd - this is always yelled and never spoken in a normal tone)
Her bright smiles and happy ways brighten everyone's day. Wherever she
goes people always comment on what a happy, beautiful child she is. I'm
so grateful this happy, beautiful little girl was sent to us to enjoy
and love. We love you Maeve!
Xavier (with a little help from Mommy) made Maeve's birthday cake. He picked a chocolate cake with chocolate chips and chocolate fudge on top, of course. Chocolate is Maeve's favorite thing, after all. He also put the candles on her cake. He had such fun sticking them in that I think he got a bit carried away. :)
I think the fudge was Maeve's favorite part of the cake. What do you think?
Loyd helped to wrap her presents and got them set up on the kitchen table. He was also the offical present passer, making sure she got all of her gifts.
Rebekah and I made some of Maeve's presents. I crocheted a couple of doll dresses and Rebekah sewed a beautiful doll blanket and pillow set for her. Maeve loves her doll babies and was very excited about her new toys.
Dustin was the official camera man and distributor of cake. He even bravely cleaned up our messy miss when she was all done. That was no small job. :)
It was a fun day to celebrate our favorite 2 year old and share some happy, chocolatey memories together.
Happy Birthday Toddler Maeve! We love you with all our hearts!
