June and Half of July in Pictures

We have been having all sorts of fun with visitors this summer.  We started off the month with a bang.  Grandma and Grandpa ,P and Grandma and Grandpa C, and Uncle Jason all came to visit and to be part of Rebekah's baptism.  We had lots of fun taking our family to visit the beach, see some of our favorite parks and water spray grounds, visit NASA, eat at lots of yummy restaurants, and celebrate with Rebekah in decision to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It was lots of fun for everyone!

Uncle Jason, Loyd, Rebekah, Xavier, and Maeve at Rocket Park in front of the Saturn V rocket.
Loyd and Xavier experimenting with sidewalk chalk on the wet cement.  Maeve is showing off her squirt gun.

We also enjoyed some happy, warm rain storms.  These rainstorms are perfect opportunities to get a swim suit on, grab some chalk and squirt guns and have lots of fun playing in the rain!

Playing in the water is the best!

Loyd displaying one of his snaps before throwing it on the ground.
For the 4th of July we celebrated with snaps in the backyard, a fun afternoon at the Citizen's Appreciation Celebration at the League City Park, and a pretty fireworks show in our front yard that night.  Loyd said it was the best day ever, but I think that is mostly because he got to throw snaps and hear their satisfying bang.  Boys love fireworks.

Maeve oohed and aahed at all the right places as she watched the fireworks.  She kept pointing at them and calling them "stars!" when they went off.  I think she was more fun to watch than the fireworks.  :)
Xavier liked to throw his snaps while in motion.
Maeve couldn't quite get the muscle to throw her snaps and make them pop, so she opted to stomp on them instead.
Xavier and his friend Abby at the Citizen's Appreciation Celebration.  Parks are always more fun with a friend.
Cowboy Xavier checking out his mount.  He was pretty excited to be on a real horse.

Cowboy Loyd loving his pony ride
Maeve discovering her new lifelong passion for horseback riding.  We had to pry her off the horse and she cried all the way home because she didn't want to stop her pony ride.
Contrary to the look on her face, Rebekah actually really enjoyed riding her pony.

Our peach tree provided bountifully for us this year.  We were busy canning peach halves, making multiple batches of peach jam, eating fresh peaches right off the tree, making peach muffins, and trying peach spice bread.  What a yummy job!

After the grandparents went home we were excited to welcome our super fun cousin Kailyn and her friend J.C.  We've been showing off how fun Texas can be with visits to the Space Center, one of the local beaches, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and the local shopping mall.  We've affectionately dubbed our guests as "The Teenagers."  They are all sorts of interesting as observation subjects for the kids.  ;)
When Maeve can't ride ponies she LOVES going to the Space Center to look at rockets and learn about how awesome science and space is.
Dustin and the kids in front of some awesome fossils at the HMNS.  Yea for dinosaur bones.
Loyd and Xavier playing with some friends at the beach
With all of the fun things to do inside, we still find time to enjoy the beach.
Maeve closely examining the local wildlife, a very brave and patient hermit crab.

But nothings beats the summer time heat like sitting inside the fridge.  ;)

We hope you're having as much fun as we are this summer!
