Big Week

We had the great joy of celebrating Xavier's 3rd birthday this week.  We had such fun on his birthday making a big fuss over our little Mr. X, watching the movie "Wall-e," playing lots and lots of trains, making a yummy Thomas the Train ice cream birthday cake, and opening exciting presents.

While Loyd and Bekah were at school Xavier and I crushed Oreo cookies and mixed them in with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream to make his yummy cake.  Xavier's favorite part was taste testing all of the ingredients before and after we mixed them together.  He is such a happy helper in the kitchen and does a good job to listen and follow directions when helping me make yummy food.

Whenever we asked Xavier what he wanted for his birthday or how old he was, he always responded, "Thomas birthday!"  Xavier loves Thomas the Train and all things with wheels.  He thinks about them all of the time and think they are the answer to all of life's questions.  He is definitely all boy.  Maybe he'll pick up his daddy's automotive skills and be good at fixing cars just like Dustin.  :)

It was so much fun to reflect on the blessing of having this handsome, happy little man in our family and how much we look forward to watching this special song of God grow.

Happy Birthday, Xavier!  We love you with all our hearts!

Loyd started preschool on Tuesday.  We are all happy and excited for him to begin another wonderful academic year filled with fun, learning, and lots of friends.  Loyd made such a big impression last year that all of his returning teachers remembered who he was before we even got to the front door.  They lovingly scooped him up and gave him great big enthusiastic bear hugs like only teenage girls can give.  Loyd is back in his element.  :)

Because Maeve is so little I can't ride my bike to pick our Mr. Loyd up from class in the afternoon, so we have started walking.  I wear Maeve in the front carrier and push Xavier in the stroller.  (This stroller has been with us for over 6 years now. It's amazing!)

We really enjoy our afternoon walk and Xavier is always a bit disappointed to see it come to an end when we get home.

Let's hope all this walking helps me loose the baby weight fast!
