End of year activites for Loyd
Loyd's last day of Trooper School was this week. They had a little end of year program for all of the Trooper students and gave them awards signifying one of their accomplishments or unique traits. Loyd was awarded "Most Helpful" and I received glowing reviews from his Trooper teachers regarding his behavior this past year. I'm glad to know he minds somebody.
We also had Loyd's last soccer game of the Spring season this week. It's been an interesting season of watching Loyd meander around the field, not chase the ball, find spots of dirt to play in, and generally find all sorts of activities that don't involve soccer during his games. I will say, he was pretty good at protecting the goal when his turn as goalie came around. I guess it's all part of the 4 year old soccer experience. :)
At the end of the season all of the kids received participation trophies. Loyd is pretty proud of his and has carried it around the house for 2 days now.

We also had the chance to go to the first Buttler Longhorn Museum Civil War reenactment in League City this weekend. It was fun to watch the battle reenactment with the kids. They have never seen guns in person before and were startled by how loud they were. Xavier needed the safety of Daddy to help him brave the entire fight. The boys were on their best behavior just in case one of those guns got pointed their way. :) It was neat to see all of the actors dressed in period clothing and to wander through the park grounds looking at the period campsites and handicrafts. It was also a neat opportunity to introduce the kids to an important segment of American history. Hopefully they do this again next year.
