Welcome Santa

Santa made a special appearance at the library this week. We were so happy he took the time to come and visit us during his busy time of year. :D The kids thought really hard about what they wanted for Christmas. They come up with some pretty good ideas.

(Anxiously waiting in line by the romance novels at the city library to see Santa Clause.)

Bekah: Rebekah had a terrible time thinking of something. With a little bit of help she finally made a decision. She rehearsed her simple request over and over again under her breath as she waiting in line for her big moment. When she finally had her chance to ask Santa for what she wanted her mind went blank. Pleadingly, she looked to Dad for help and he reminded her of what she was going to say. With much relief and a big smile, she asked Santa for an art kit.

Loyd: Loyd figured out pretty quickly what he wanted to ask for. He wants a remote control Xavier for Christmas. He's a genius! I should have asked for a remote control little brother when I was a kid!

Xavier: Xavier became increasingly more anxious as we approached the front of the line to see Jolly Ol' St. Nick. With his eyes as round as silver dollars and filling up with shiny tears, Dustin took him to stand next to Santa for a picture, but we didn't make him sit on that happy old elf's lap. Santa was a bit scarey, but with Daddy by his side Xavier was able to summon the courage necessary to survive a few quick pictures. We aren't sure what Xavier is dreaming of for Christmas, but he is so genial that I'm sure he will be happy with whatever Santa surprises him with.

Santa came on his classic antique Firetruck. Bekah asked where his sled was. We had to explain that the reign deer need to rest up for their big trip on Christmas Eve so they couldn't fly down to League City this week. Besides, there isn't any snow for a sleigh. Santa has to drive around in a firetruck when he visits Texas. :)

We also went to a fun Marching Band Themed Birthday party this week. Here are some fun pictures of the kids playing in their band hats, blowing their horns and having far too much fun on the slides.
