Fun with Grandma and Grandpa C. and Uncle Jared!

We have had so much fun this week showing Grandma and Grandpa C. and Uncle Jared around the Houston area. We are so glad they were able to come and visit and see some of the things we enjoy so much about our home.

Here are some pictures of the many fun things we were able to do. :)

Bekah was the only one we were able to catch for a fun pose with Grandma and Grandpa on July 4th. The boys were way too wiggly and interested in exploring to hold still for a picture. The pictures above were taken at the Challenger 7 Memorial Park during the ward pancake breakfast. We ate lots of yummy pancakes and enjoyed playing on the big playground toys.

After the ward breakfast we went to the City of League City's Citizen Appreciation party at the League Park. It was a wonderful party with several free family friendly activities, great entertainment and lots of free food.

They had a free petting zoo. The kids couldn't get into it fast enough to say hello to each and every goat and pig.

Xavier had his first pony ride. He was quite serious about it, but he wasn't scared at all. He made a very dignified rider and I think he really enjoyed the experience. :)

Bekah and Loyd enjoyed their pony rides too. They are seasoned riders now with upwards of 3 or 4 pony rides under their belt. ;>D

We love any opportunity we can get to connect with our rancher roots.

We also ate way too much junk food at the city party. Strangely, a large portion of it was blue....

The next day we headed over to Kemah Boardwalk. We cooled off in the spray fountain....

...rode on the two story carousel (Xavier cried the whole time, but Rebekah and Loyd had to be pried off the beautiful horses)...

...and Rebekah and Loyd rode on their first amusement park ride. When Loyd's airplane rose up into the air he gasped in shock and a big grin immediately plastered his face. He could hardly believe he was actually "flying" the plane. Rebekah was serious faced for most of the ride, but at least she didn't cry or get scared. When she got off she said she had fun too.

Then we spent a day at the beach. It was the first warm water beach Dustin's parents had ever been too. They loved the water temperature and the cool Gulf breeze. We stayed until everyone was well on their way to having a sunburn and we were starving for lunch. I think they would have spent every day at the beach if we had had time. :>D

The kids floated on their new kick boards, walked out into the surf as far as the grownups would let them, and practiced their swimming lesson kicks and hand scoops in the warm salt water.

Everyone had a great time!

On the last full day they were here we went to Galveston Island to check out the local color. We walked along the Seawall and they visited the historic downtown district.

We are so glad we had this fun week with our family. We laughed and talked a lot and ate way too much junk food. The kids even got to torture Grandma's talking kitty app until he phone battery died. It was great fun for us all!

Thanks for coming to visit Grandma and Grandpa C. and Uncle Jared!

All ya'll take your time going home, but hurry back soon!
