What a Fun Week

We've had a wonderfully fun two weeks. We have been lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa P and Aunt Jenny come and visit us. We took it slow the week of Christmas, but after the presents were opened and the candy was eaten we went adventuring!

Aunt Jenny helped keep the kids busy by using her amazing teacher skills and doing art projects with the kids. They LOVED it and will treasure their hand-reindeer forever.

We then picked the coldest and windiest day to visit the Gulf of Mexico. Loyd wasn't so sure he liked all the wind, but Bekah couldn't have cared less. It was all we could do to convince her not to go for a swim.

We took advantage of the free day at the Houston Museum of Natural History on Tuesday and saw many wonderful things. The kids were able to play with a smoke machine in the weather center, see hundreds of mineral formations and beautiful gem stones, look at a real mummy and mummified cat, and top the day off with Bekah getting to hold real dinosaur poop! (That's called a coprolite for all of you budding paleontologists.)

On Wednesday we helped some dear friends get ready to move and clean their home. It was really sad to see them go. We are going to miss them like crazy.

Thursday was our day to visit NASA. We saw all of the great exhibits about space, touched a genuine moon rock and explored a totally cool LEGO exhibit.

They had a dozen LEGO castle models, 2 life sized knights, a virtual catapult, and this totally cool Dragon. It was pretty much one of the coolest exhibits they have had at Space Center Houston.

We sadly said goodbye to Aunt Jenny and Grandma P on Friday, but we get to keep Grandpa P for a few more weeks.

After all that fun we have needed a little rest. We have definitely enjoyed our Saturday and Sunday naps this week. ;>)

Looks like fun. Wish we could come visit. Too bad the drive alone might kill us.
