Meet Grant and Jay Gerbil

Image
This June we welcomed two new little friends into the family. Meet our new gerbil friends, Grant (black) and Jay (tan).  They are the most gentle and sweet gerbil brothers I have ever met.  We are excited they are part of our family and we can enjoy these sweet little guys every day. Welcome to the Cornelius clan!

Track Camp and Nature Art Camp

Image
Xavier, Maeve, Owen, and John had lots of fun attending a week long track camp hosted by the High School track team.  Their favorite activities were the long and high jumps and the hurdles.  Look that those good looking kids run! Maeve had the opportunity to attend a day long art camp in nature at the Ogden Nature Center.  She had a great day of creativity in nature and slept like a log the whole night through after.  Check out the art instillation Maeve and her fellow day campers designed and created in just one afternoon!

Sensational Start to Summer!

Image
It's finally here!  Summer!!!  It wouldn't be summer without a few important events to kick of this season of sun, water, and fun!  Like, hey!  We got some hammocks for outside!  They make great boats, forts, swings, amusement park rides, and sleeping stations.  We also made it to the county library's summer reading program kick-off party at the park. They had yummy popsicles and lots and lots and lots of sudsy bubbles! Owen and John went to their first summer camp of the season.  It was fun to go to Dinosaur Science 4H camp!  We are making the rounds to all of the fun, wet community splash pads we can think of to help us beat the heat during these gloriously long summer days! The rhubarb is happy and delicious this second year in our garden.  We love how crazy big the leaves get!  And we really love how yummy rhubarb pie, cake, jam, and cobbler tastes when it comes fresh from our little backyard garden. We all took the day to drop Loyd ...

Until we meet again, Sweet Tornado

Image
Our sweet little gerbil, Tornado, passed away peacefully in the loving hands of Loyd on May 26th.  He lived to an old gerbil age of 3 years old, carefully and lovingly cared for and watched over by Loyd.  Tornado was a loyal and loving friend.  We will miss his little personality around the house, but know he is happy to to reunited with his brothers Tangee and Legacy on the other side of the veil.  We miss him now, but look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.  We love you, Tornado.

Loyd the Mountain Biker!

Image
Loyd is on the Morgan High School Mountain Bike team!  He is having so much fun exploring this new sport, navigating fun, challenging mountain bike trails, and spending lots of extra time with his Dad.  Dustin volunteered to be one of the coaches and gets to go on all the trails with Loyd, even if he is at the back of the pack thinking how much easier it would be if he were 20 years younger.  ;) Loyd looking pretty handsome in his team uniform with his first real mountain bike.  Uncle Royal found this great bike used for an amazing price to help Loyd get started in the sport.  He even did a personal repair and tune up to get the bike perfect for this great kid.  What a fabulous uncle we have! Loyd, aka Mr. Cool

Silly John

Image
Here's some crazy, candid moments of our silly little John from the past few months.  :)  John pretending to be a spring flower in my front flower garden.  Hey Mom, remember that time I told you there was a square toy stuck in my nose, but you didn't believe me and then like six weeks later I had a huge sneeze and the square bead that was stuck in my nose came shooting out?  Yea, that was pretty funny.  :D  John found my camera.  Selfie time! Play time at the Ogden Nature Center playground.  It's the best!
