Marvels of Transporation Technology

Over Spring Break we made it over to Space Center to check out the space shuttle replica Independence and the historic NASA 905 shuttle carrier aircraft.  It was so cool to tour through them both, learning more about the NASA Shuttle program, and remembering when we saw the last flight of the NASA 905 just after Maeve was born and Grandma was visiting to help with the new baby.  It flew the Endeavor over Houston for the last time in 2012.

Our little green Toyota Camry has made it past the 200,000 mile mark!  This amazing little car has been through a lot with our family.  It has driven me through college, as a newly wed at BYU, to my first post-college job at Zenger-Folkman, and it drove us to the hospital for the births of all 5 of our beautiful children.  It moved our young family across the country from Utah to beautiful League City, Texas as Dustin took his first teaching job with CCISD.  It drove Dustin and I to our first apartment home as a young married couple, and it drove our little family to our first home we bought together.  It has made summer-time trips to Utah, loaded to the gills with luggage and kids to visit Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and Friends.  It evacuated our family during Hurricane Ike and kept us safe from the eye of the storm.  It has been an integral, if unnoticed part of our family these many years.

This little green car has been a trooper and has made a mark on my life and my family's lives these past 13 years.  To celebrate this momentous achievement of 200,000 miles we all congratulated The Green Shadow, with some of the kids giving it a hug and Rebekah presenting it with a congratulatory sign.  :)  Thank you, Green Shadow!  We couldn't have done so much without you!
