Birthday Boy - Mr. X

Xavier turned 6 years old this week, and boy what a birthday week it has been for him. On Wednesday they celebrated his birthday with his Kindergarten class. On Thursday they celebrated his birthday on the elementary school announcements. On Friday we celebrated his special day with the family. On Saturday we had a ton of fun inviting all of his friends from Primary to join us for a backyard water party. And on Sunday they celebrated his birthday in Primary. It's great to have a birthday and know so many wonderful people love you.

I am deeply blessed by this little boy in our home. Xavier has a shining, bright glow inside of him that cannot be kept inside. To me he is the embodiment of the Light of Christ. He is so happy to be alive and to experience this mortal life and you can see that love from the Savior shine out of him. It is no surprise that his favorite color is yellow because he is so bright.

Xavier is nearly always cheerful (we must allow for those times when one is tired, hungry, or sick) and always friendly. When I am feeling blue, I know a few minutes of conversation with Xavier will always lift my spirits. He is my go-to guy when I need a smile or an enthusiastic hug. He brings fun and cheer into our home with his ready laughter and eagerness to find the best in anybody. He loves life and is pleased with all who he meets.

For Xavier there are no strangers, just friends he hasn't met yet. I stand amazed and grateful that he comes home from school each day announcing that he has made a new friend and that making friends is easy to do. I know he is reaching out in love and friendship to all he meets. He is an example of a believer and shares his knowledge that we are all special with those he encounters through his actions and the kid, loving way he treats others. He does so much good in the world.

Happy Birthday, Xavier. You brought sunshine and joy into our family on the day you were born. I am eagerly looking forward to a lifetime of sunny days with you!

Now there is a great debate over Xavier's new toy raging in our home.  Xavier says it is an action figure.  Loyd and Dad keep calling it a doll.  Xavier is not happy with their classification of his totally awesome Captain America, and he is not afraid to let them know.  Captain America is totally an action figure.

 Birthday Party Fun

Water fun in the backyard with water balloon games, water beads to play with in the kiddie pool, water slide fun, and yummy ice cream cupcakes. We had 20 of our friends from Primary come and join us to celebrate Xavier's birthday.  Yea for birthday party fun!

Xavier, the birthday boy.  Go 6!

Test driving the water slide before all the friends arrive.  Yep, I think it's ready for some fun.

Water Beadz for the kids to play with.  Everyone got to take some home too.
Water balloon games

Here are some funny, short slow motion water balloon videos.  Loyd's video is hilarious at the end!

Owen's party perch in the mommy pouch.  Now that is one content baby.

Ice Cream Cupcakes.  Genius!  They are simple party sized ice cream cups from the grocery store.  Yea for Simplicity!
Everyone got their own candle to blow out (Xavier got 6).  I got this great idea from my friend Dana. It's genius for birthday parties where all the kids really just want to blow out the candles too. :)

I think the party was a hit!
