1st Day of Preschool Excitment

Monday night was "Meet the Teacher" for Xavier's preschool, and it took Loyd about 1 minute to find some of his teachers from last year and get all those pretty teenage girls to carry him around.  Everywhere I turned another cute teenager was asking, "Where's Loyd?"  Man, I'm so in trouble with that handsome little boy.  He needs to be less exciting.  :) 

Tuesday was Xavier's first day of Trooper School Preschool.  The whole house was in an excited commotion that morning.  Rebekah and Loyd were super excited for him to go to Trooper School and have a wonderful, fun time there.  They gave him all sorts of tips and things to look forward too.  We eventually got lunches made, kids dressed, and everyone in the car on time.  Xavier was literally bouncing around the living room in happy anticipating. 

Xavier loved Trooper School.  He climbed out of the van without a second look back and greeted me with an enthusiastic grin when I picked up in the afternoon.  He loved the activities, and the new friends, and finding his name everywhere (He is really good at recognizing the letter "X" and knowing it starts his name).  He beamed with big-boy pride as I taped his wonderful school creations on the wall above the computer desk, for all the world to admire. 

Xavier is reveling in his time to shine as a big boy at school.  It's been a long summer of waiting for this day, but it was well worth the wait.  We're ready for another exciting year of playing, learning, and growing.  Yea for Trooper school!

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preferenc...

Fun Moments Around the House

Xavier is getting down to work on this year's science fair project.  He's testing to see which oil is best for popping popcorn.  It's important science. John and Diana are enjoying playtime inside boxes, because boxes are the best, of course! John is starting to have fun playdates with friends from the neighborhood.  It's so fun to find good friends who share a love in all things Paw Patrol!
