Eventful Week

Quotes of the Week
Rebekah: "How do dogs get puppies? Do they lay eggs like birds?"

Loyd: "Well, I better go to work."
Mom: "What do you do at work?"
Loyd: "You know, I build robots all day long, like Daddy."

Birthday Boy of the Week

Party of the Week

To celebrate our sweet little boy's birthday we all ate way too much sugar and the boys had a great time playing with Loyd's new Star Wars light-sabers that light up and go "Shwing!" We also had a party for him on Saturday. We had a great time. The theme was bugs. We invited lots of his little friends over and built bug jars and bug binoculars. Then, we went on a bug hunt and captured lots and lots of bugs. It was a really rainy day so the bug hunt had to be relocated from the backyard to the front room. The kids had fun. It was funny to see them giggle, squeal and flinch as they found and collected plastic cockroaches and dragonflies and happily plopped them into their bug jars. A good time was had by all, and now all the plastic bugs covering my front room have been found and captured, much to my relief. Another terrible infestation has been averted. :)

Visitor of the Week
The Tooth Fairy made her first appearance in the Cornelius household. Since we were new on her route it took her a little time to find Rebekah's room. Luckily, with just minutes to spare before Bekah woke up for school, the Tooth Fairy came and changed Rebekah's first lost baby tooth into a dollar.

Not wanting to get her hopes up, when she woke up Rebekah declared that she didn't think the Tooth Fairy was real. She didn't think she had taken her tooth and left her with a surprise. (I guess she woke up in the night and checked her pillow to discover the Tooth Fairy hadn't come yet.) Well, I prompted her to check her tooth pillow and see if her tooth really was still there. You should have seen the wonder and excited light up across her face as she dumped out 4 quarters onto her sheets instead of one tiny baby tooth. We know now that the Tooth Fairy is indeed real and Rebekah can back me up on that. And next time, I think the Tooth Fairy will have an easier time of finding our house and won't be quite so late to make her visit.

Daddy unsuccessfully trying to pull Bekah's loose tooth. It had been wiggling in there for almost a month! No tooth was pulled this night despite long efforts and much convincing.

At long last, Bekah's tooth fell out on Sunday the 12th at the end of Primary. We tucked that precious tooth into a shirt pocket and whisked it home to be deposited into the special Tooth Fairy pillow. Here is our newly toothless (Well, sort of. Her new tooth is already pushing its way in.) daughter proudly displaying her treasure before bedtime.

We hope you had as much fun and as eventful a week as we did!
