Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's day! I want to share a little humor with you on this day where we express our gratitude for our dad. It's not dad related, but I have to record this before I forget. Two Sunday's ago, on Fast Sunday, Rebekah added a new hymn to the Cornelius cannon. She was heard singing around the house very sweetly, "God be with you till we eat again....Till we e-e-eat. Till we e-e-eat. God be with you till we eat again." She cracks me up with her silly songs and the funny ways she changes melodies that we know to make them all her own.

Since that Sunday we have been busy with swimming lessons, mini family adventures and playing with our cousin Kailyn.

Rebekah and Loyd both graduated from swimming lessons on Friday. I was very proud of both of them. They were very brave and listened to their teachers very well. Loyd loved playing in the water with his daddy and Rebekah developed a little crush on her swim instructor, Spencer. She would do anything for Spencer. She jumped in the water without hesitation, kicked her legs with gusto, scooped the water with her pretty little hands and even put her head under the water, all for Spencer. It's so nice to know that a cute boy can motivate Rebekah to do difficult tasks.

Yesterday we had a beach day.

The kids loved splashing in the water and digging in the sand. There was a crazy amount of seaweed on the beach, but it wasn't too much of a hassle. In fact, we ended up using the seaweed as a natural barrier to protect or sandcastle. Rebekah wanted to do everything Kailyn did and Loyd loved chilling out by the food between bouts of running in the water and filling buckets with sand.

Xavier even enjoyed the sand and the surf. It was his first trip to the beach. He giggled when the small waves hit his chest and grinned with delight when he first felt the squishy sand push up between his toes.

It was a wonderful day. We were so glad Kailyn could be there with us and enjoy one of the many beautiful landscapes the Lord has made for us.
