Happy Independance Day!

So, what do you do when it's over a 100 degrees outside and it's the 4th of July? Why, spend the afternoon outside at the park, of course!

We had a fun 4th of July. They really know how to celebrate here in Texas! We went to the church for a joint ward breakfast. Then, we went over to League City park where the city provided free hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones and sodas for lunch along with free entertainment. We ate our yummy lunch and then the kids went to the petting zoo and took a pony ride. Bekah loved touching the geese and Loyd was sure his job was to stay on the pony all afternoon. Then, we got our balloon animals and went to the face painting. Rebekah had a seashell put on her arm and Loyd had the batman bat put on his arm. Sufficiently tired, we went home and everyone took a long nap. After we woke up and ate dinner we went to watch the fireworks show at the Kemah boardwalk. It was an awesome show that kept Loyd "Oohing" and "Ahhing" for 20 minutes. It was a fun day had by all. We hope all ya'll had such a fun 4th too!

Here are the kids with their treasures. Rebekah insisted on a sword and you can see her seashell on her arm. We couldn't get a good shot of Loyd's batman tattoo.

Loyd got a balloon bug. He loves his new balloon friend.

This is just a random shot from last Sunday. Rebekah was very proud of the castle she built and wanted me to take a picture. I think she did a pretty good job. Maybe she has a future career in civil engineering. :)
