Happy Birthday Rebekah!

Happy Birthday to my little girl!  I can hardly believe this beautiful young lady is already 10 years old!  Rebekah is such a blessing and an example in our family.  She has a tender heart and helps us to keep our home a place where peace comes first and the promptings of the Holy Ghost can be heard.  She lovingly plays with and teachers her younger brothers and sisters and shares a warmth and love for each of them in their own unique way.  Rebekah is smart and thoughtful, often surprising me with the depth and forward thinking she displays in her questions and our conversations.  She is a hard worker, always taking the initiative to take care of her responsibilities at school, home, and church.  She is mature beyond her years.  Rebekah teaches and stretches me every day on how to become a better mother.  I am so grateful for Rebekah and for her in our family.  I couldn't have asked for a better daughter or friend.  I love you, Rebekah!

 In honor of Rebekah's birthday we broke out the super fun water slide, invited 10 of her closest friends, ordered the biggest cheese pizza in town, and played until we couldn't take it any more! 

The weather threatened large amounts of rain and flooding, but we prayed and prayed for sunshine for our party and the Lord her our prayers.  He gave us just enough sunshine to enjoy our party outside and clean up our mess before blessing us with more rain.  He truly is a merciful God who listens to our pleadings.  What can make a birthday party even more cool than an actual miracle?!  :)

Yes, the pizza box was tall as Owen.  It was 1 Owen tall and 1 Owen wide.  ;) Yea for HUGE party pizza!

It's About Time We Got Some Snow Around Here

It's been a bit of a warm and dry winter, until our latest epic snow storm!!  We didn't get as much snow as high elevations, but I'm happy with 9 inches in 3 days.  Diana is all in when it comes to playing in the snow, the little boys have been busy as beavers digging snow forts, and Maeve has found that digging out snow paths with her friend Lilly is a great way to "chill" during the afternoon.  :D  The big kids have been busy helping Dustin and I keep the street shoveled out.  Dustin wakes up early every morning to use my Dad's snow plow to clear all of the sidewalks on our street  before the kids have to walk to school. The kids and I have been working hard to keep our driveway and the driveways of some of our elder neighbors cleared after all of this wonderful snowfall.  It's been a fun wintertime treat.  The ward to the child who shoveled the most for this storm goes to Rebekah!  She's a pretty awesome snow shoveler despite her preference for warm

Fun Moments Around the House

Xavier is getting down to work on this year's science fair project.  He's testing to see which oil is best for popping popcorn.  It's important science. John and Diana are enjoying playtime inside boxes, because boxes are the best, of course! John is starting to have fun playdates with friends from the neighborhood.  It's so fun to find good friends who share a love in all things Paw Patrol!
