Owen's Baby Blessing

On Sunday, December 28, 2014 Owen was given a name and a Priesthood blessing by his loving father, Dustin Cornelius.
We were able to perform his baby blessing at home so we could include all of the grandparents, who live in different states, via Skype video phone.  It was a beautiful blessing and we are so honored to have such amazing men stand in the Priesthood circle for our beautiful baby boy.  We are truly grateful for the kind friends we have made here in TX that have become as dear to us as our own family.  We also feel very blessed to live in a time when we can share this special day with our close family and friends despite living so far from our extended family.
We want you to know, Owen, how much we love you.  You are a gift from heaven and we look forward to getting to know and love you more with each passing year.  You have many people who love you and will help teach you the Gospel of Christ so that you can live a happy, full life.  Thank you for being our baby to hold and love.

I just couldn't resist!  I live with too many little boys to not post this funny picture.  :)

That's awesome that you were able to Skype your family for the blessing.
And, I love the cute hats you made for your children. How did you decide which hat to make for each child?
I tried to find cute patterns that would use the yarn I already had on hand for Maeve and Owen's hats. It didn't hurt that I love dogs and Maeve has an affinity for Cookie Monster (she loves pointing to my Cookie Monster poster in the kitchen and saying "Cookie, Cookie!"). Rebekah's hat was from her Halloween costume I made last year, so that was easy, and Loyd and Xavier put in requests for their hats. So I guess you could say it was a mixture of inspiration, desperation, and exhortation that lead to the making of all of these fun hats. :)
