One Car Driving Somewhere....

One car driving somewhere.  Can you guess?
One looooong car ride and lots of snacks, activities, and movies later, we finally made it to Grandma and Grandpa P's house in Utah!  It was a fun, action packed trip filled with fun cousins, countless yummy popsicles (Loyd said the exact count was one gazillion), and lots of great activities.

Maeve practiced and practiced how to stand up all by herself, without any help.  She got pretty awesome at it while we were away.

Maeve even sprouted her first two teeth on our trip!  Check out her lovely pair of chompers on top.  :)

The kids adored all the fun time they spent playing with their cousins.  We are so lucky to have such wonderful family!

Kaleb, Loyd, and Xavier tricking the Mommies into thinking they were going to go to bed.  Silly Mommies.
Great Grandma Ruth Cornelius, Rebekah, Audrey, Grandma C, and Maeve
We were able to visit with all of our Cornelius cousins and spend some quality time with Grandma Grape (Great Grandma C).  We are so lucky to have such a wonderful Great Grandma to love us and spend time with us.

We spent a whole day at the pool with just the cousins, the warm (by Utah standards) water, and the chatty aunts.  Rebekah and the boys practiced their newly acquired swimming and jumping skills until they could move no longer.

Rub a Dub Dub; Three Men in the Tub!
Bubble baths at Grandma's house are a must and the kids love the jacoozie jets that make the bubbles climb to impossible heights.  :)
Even Rebekah had her own bath-time fun in the bubble bath.
Maeve couldn't believe what fun a bath could be when covered in a thick layer of bubbles.  :)

Monopoly marathons were played...

...animals in the clouds were spied...
...and rides at Lagoon were experienced.

We rode just about every ride we could ride while at Lagoon with Grandma and Grandpa C, who drove out special from California to play with us.  Everyone had a great time...
...except poor Baby Maeve who was too little to go on any of the exciting rides.  Poor baby.

We played in the sprinklers at several parks and in Grandma's yard.  The kids discovered how cold mountain water is, even in July, and how much they missed our perpetually warm Texas water.  :)

Rebekah, Ashton, Loyd, Damon, Xavier, and Vivian
We went to the BYU Paleontology museum with friends and discovered that an ancient giant crocodile was just big enough to swallow six kids in one bite.

Xavier at the wheel!  Rebekah keeps asking when she can get her driver's license now.  :D
We went to Uncle Royal's and Aunt Loretta's house where we learned to drive a Land Cruiser and discovered the unquenchable joys of playing with LEGOs.

Queen Kailyn and King Xavier
At the Treehouse Museum, Xavier couldn't believe his good fortune at who his queen was, and Loyd discovered he was destined to pull the fabled sword from the stone to rule all of England.

Loyd, an unlucky fireman, and Jayden
At the Morgan County Fair we got to play with real fire hoses, play fun games, eat delicious cotton candy, and see lots of adorable baby farm animals.

Who let Loyd loose with a fire hose?

We put Grandpa P to work building wooden puppets with his grandsons.  The boys did a very good job of keeping and eye on Grandpa and following standard shop safety procedures.  After putting together 4 Mike Monsters and 4 Sully Monsters from the new Monster's University movie I don't think Grandpa will be making wooden puppets again any time in the near future.  :)

Kaleb, Grandpa P, and Xavier

Daddy flew home early to work, so Grandma P kindly agreed to drive back with me and the 4 kids all the way to Texas.  On the trip we stopped in Monticello, UT and were able to visit Loyd's Lake, the local dam and waterway engineered by my Grandad Young, our little Loyd's namesake.  Here is Loyd by the sign for his Lake.  There are a lot of rules that begin with "No" here.  Maybe they know something about Loyds we don't.  :)

Grandma and the kids in the wooded picnic area around Loyd's Lake.  It was filled with fun trails and perfect spots for picnics or campfire cookouts.

On the ride home we ate more snacks, watched more fun movies, and took lots of naps.

Oh, how good it is to be back to our Texas beaches and our little home.  We are so grateful we could visit our wonderful family and have such an exciting, action packed trip in Utah this summer.  We look forward to it all year long and have never been disappointed yet.  Here's to just 11 months before our next vacation!
