July Extravaganza

July has been a good month to the Cornelius family.  We have been keeping active and exploring the many great activities open to us.  We celebrated the 4th of July at the City Park with free patriotic entertainment and smoked hotdogs for lunch (yum!).

There was even a small petting zoo and pony rides for the kids at the park.  They loved getting close to the animals. While we were waiting in line for the pony ride one goat made an escape and made it all the way to the gazebo, but it was eventually caught and brought back to the fenced area.  Poor goat just wanted freedom on Independence Day.  :)

It was hot and ice water helped everyone keep nice and cool.  As you can see, we loved the ice!

Rebekah has been reading up a storm, often staying up late into the night to finish yet another Weird School book.  She has really developed a passion for reading this summer and I love watching her get so excited about a good book.
We've enjoyed cookies the size of your face...
... and hanging out with giant grocery bags at storytime.

We've gone to Space Center and had fun with live alligators, swamp obstacle courses, and a giant LEGO pit.

Xavier showing off his 2 rockets and launching pad.  He was very excited about his rockets, my cute little space man.

We even got to learn about snakes up close and personal at the library.

I can't believe all the wonderful things we have been able to do this July, and the month is only half over!  I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer offers!
