Picture Extravaganza

It has been a very busy couple of weeks with a lot of fun things happening at the Cornelius household.  Here are some pictures of our eventful end of March - first of April.  Enjoy!

Maeve learned to sit on her own!  She accomplished this big milestone on Wednesday, March 27th.  Now she is perfecting the art of scooting backwards.  :)

She also discovered that everything should go into her mouth.  By everything, I mean EVERYTHING.

She also discovered the ecstasy of swinging.  She LOVES the swing and can't get enough of swinging back and forth.  This activity is always sure to illicit adorable baby giggles.

On Friday, March 29th, Xavier had his very first dental check up.  He did a great job.  The dentist and the hygienist were very kind and gentle with him and were good to patiently explain everything they were doing.  He was a little bit nervous to sit in the big, moving chair so they let him have his cleaning and check-up on my lap.  He was very obedient and did everything they asked.  He had a nice visit and I'm sure won't mind going back again in 6 months.  He is telling everyone he meets now that he has very clean teeth.  :)

Everyone was given a clean bill of dental health, except Dustin.  He has 3 cavities.

We also had an action packed Easter.  We enjoyed 3 egg hunts.  One hunt was hosted by Loyd's preschool, the second was a fun birthday party for a friend, and the third was in our backyard on Easter morning.  Xavier opened up a hard boiled egg and excitedly exclaimed, "Look, Mom, a ball!"  as he pointed to the round, yellow yolk.  My kids may get too many plastic, candy filled eggs at Easter time.  :)

We also made sure we spent a great deal of time talking of Christ and his Atonement for us.  We learned about the last week of the Savior's life and talked about the miracle of the Atonement and the Resurrection that we might be forgiven of our sins and one day have our bodies back in a perfected state.  These discussions particularly touched Loyd.  He loves to think of the Resurrection and the reuniting of old friends and beloved family members.

Loyd's preschool class and his great teachers.

The Easter eggs we got to decorate Saturday night, before Easter morning.

Loyd was all business on the Egg hunts.  This is as close as we could get to our swift egg hunter.

Bekah, happily weighed down by her heavy egg stash.

More cute pictures of Maeve swinging.

Xavier looking cute at the park.  We loved to visit the local parks at least once a week.  Little boys need space to run and climb and jump and swing.  Mommies need a break from cleaning house.

Maeve discovered the joys of chocolate Oreo cookies.  She couldn't shove them into her mouth fast enough.  Yea for real people food!

 The cookie bandit is busted!

Bekah made these cute little play-dough creatures for us.  She gave us a detailed tutorial on how to make the frog on the left, and then made him a little snail friend on the right.  Very cute.  She is a little artist.

This last Saturday was our first soccer game of the season.  Everyone was excited for it to begin.

It was a bit chilly outside for us Texans, but we bundled up against the chill wind.

Loyd kept up with the ball for most of the game.

Rebekah was serious about playing her best and even got to kick the ball a few times.

Our soccer warriors: Rebekah and Loyd in their team jerseys.  Their team is called "The Great White Sharks."  Their first game ended in a tie, our team being the one to make the first goal.  All the kids played well and I prefer games that end in a tie.  I don't like it when anyone loses.  It was a fun game and the kids enjoyed their first taste of athletic competition.

Well, that is the last couple of weeks for us.  I hope you had as much fun and as many great activities as we had to enjoy.  Happy Conference Weekend!
