Rain, Old Lady Practice, and Kids with Cameras

Image
Yea! We finally got a decent rain storm! The city pool had to cancel swimming lessons that day due to the storm, but we didn't mind at all! I think the kids got just as wet playing in the rain as they would have at the city pool anyway. :) With the hot weather making it a bit hard to stand being outside I have taken this indoor time to further develop my old lady skills. My latest attempt at skill development has been experimenting with doilies. Here are a couple I've made this year. I think they turned out pretty good, don't you? Now it's picture time! Summer Reading Kick-Off and Beach Fun

The library kicked off this year's summer reading program with a free petting zoo for the kids. They were in heaven! They were able to pet all the animals and feed a good portion of the goats. Xavier took it all in stride, happily petting each new creature, but he found the rabbits to be his absolute favorite. He watched and petted them for a long time. Thank you Freeman Memorial Library for such a fun afternoon! I just love libraries! We ended the week with a quick trip to a local beach. It was only 20 minutes away and it was perfect. The kids had a ball. They didn't want to come home, but when I finally pried them away from the sand and the surf they took a good long nap. I love ...

One Project Done!

We finished painting Bekah's room this weekend! Look how pretty it is. :) I'm happy with how it turned out. This pretty much sums up how everyone felt upon seeing the finished project! Oh, it's a good feeling to cross something off the to-do list. :)
